Dell has launched its latest Alienware gaming monitor, the AW3926QW, in several Asian markets, revealing a significant spread in regional pricing for the large-format curved OLED display.

Initial Rollout and Pricing Discrepancies

The monitor’s debut reveals sharp differences in what buyers will pay depending on their location. In Taiwan, the AW3926QW is listed at NTD 74,999 (approximately $2,351), positioning it at the higher end of the regional scale. Mainland China and Hong Kong see the monitor priced at CNY 12,999 (roughly $1,914) and HK$13,998 (around $1,785), respectively.

By contrast, customers in Japan and South Korea are seeing figures much closer to previously rumored US estimates. Dell has set the Japanese price at 191,980 yen (including tax, about $1,186) and the Korean price at 1,897,500 won (including VAT, roughly $1,222). These levels approach the monitor’s expected pre-tax manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $1,099 for the American market.

Panel Technology and Visual Clarity

The AW3926QW is constructed around a 39-inch 4th Generation Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel sourced from LG Display. It shares the same dense 5120 x 2160 “5K2K” resolution as the LG 39GX950B-B, but Dell has outfitted its version with a pure RGB subpixel layout. This design choice targets improved text rendering, aiming to eliminate the color fringing that can affect other OLED subpixel structures. Dell has also applied a glossy screen finish to the display, departing from the matte anti-glare coating typically used on LG’s competing model.

Performance and Availability

On the performance front, the monitor offers a native 165Hz refresh rate and supports a dual-mode feature that allows users to switch to a 2560 x 1080 resolution at 330Hz for competitive gaming. Brightness specifications reach up to 330 nits for full-screen content and peak at 1,300 nits when displaying HDR material.

While the Alienware AW3926QW is now available to order in select parts of Asia, Dell has not yet confirmed an on-sale date for North America or Europe. For context in the segment, LG’s 39GX950B-B is currently on the market in the US for $1,799.99.
