Acer has quietly listed its most speed-focused esports monitor to date on Amazon in the United States, signaling that a full retail launch is approaching. The Nitro XV273U F5 is a 27-inch display built around a 2560 x 1440 IPS panel with a native 540Hz refresh rate, placing it among the fastest gaming monitors currently announced. The listing shows no firm shipping date and is marked as temporarily out of stock, though the company had previously guided a North American release in the fourth quarter of 2026.

A dual-resolution speed mode

What sets the XV273U F5 apart is a selectable low-resolution mode that pushes the refresh ceiling considerably higher. By dropping the canvas to 1280 x 720, the monitor can run at up to 1,000Hz, targeting competitive players who prioritize frame responsiveness over visual detail. Acer rates the standard pixel response time at 1 ms, which can be driven down to a claimed 0.5 ms with overdrive active, though those figures will depend on real-world conditions and the chosen refresh profile.

Early skepticism from similar hardware

Early hands-on testing of monitors with comparable 1,000Hz-at-720p technology has introduced some caution. A detailed evaluation of the Philips Evnia 27M2N5500XD, which employs a similar dual-mode approach, found the overall experience underwhelming in practice. It remains to be seen whether Acer’s implementation, which additionally bundles both AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility for tear-free gaming, can deliver a more convincing result.

Brightness, color, and connectivity

The panel carries VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, reaching 400 nits of typical SDR brightness and peaking at 600 nits in HDR content, while covering 95% of the DCI-P3 color space. A matte coating handles reflections in bright rooms. On the connectivity side, the monitor includes two HDMI 2.1 ports and two DisplayPort 1.4 inputs, each capable of driving the full 2560 x 1440 resolution at 540Hz.
