Apple’s Foldable iPhone/iPad Expected to Launch Next Year

Apple could be releasing a foldable device soon. A new rumor suggests that the company’s first foldable iPhone or iPad might be out as soon as next year. Here’s what you should know.

Foldable Device on the Horizon for 2026

While many popular Android brands like Samsung have already launched several versions of foldable smartphones, Apple hasn’t made any official announcements about a similar product. However, recent info from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter indicates that Apple is considering the launch of its initial foldable device possibly next year.

What Could the Device Be?

It’s still uncertain what type of flexible device Apple will introduce—will it be a foldable iPhone or a foldable iPad? The company might even reveal an entirely new range of foldable products. There are also whispers about a foldable Mac model. Still, Gurman notes that these foldable Macs are likely a few years off. At the same time, the foldable iPhone is reportedly facing some quality control challenges.

Thus, it seems the foldable iPhone is the most probable candidate to release in 2026. Back in December 2024, we discussed a report that suggested Apple’s first foldable iPhone might take on a notebook-style “Fold” design instead of a clamshell “Flip” style. Analysts have also suggested that Apple might reveal a foldable MacBook in 2026, but Gurman’s latest insights imply otherwise. Remember, though, this is all still speculation, so take this information lightly and keep an eye out for more updates.
