Xiaomi’s new Poco X series smartphone has appeared on Geekbench ahead of its release. The company announced on March 4 that it would soon launch two new Poco X Pro models worldwide. At that time, Xiaomi disclosed that these smartphones would utilize MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Ultra and Dimensity 9500s chipsets.

Performance Insights

The latter version, known as 2602BPC18G, has shown up in various initial benchmarks. This model number has been associated with the retail name “Poco X8 Pro Max.” The listings indicate that Xiaomi intends to offer the Poco X8 Pro Max with 12 GB of RAM. According to other leaks, this will be the sole RAM option available for the Poco X8 Pro Max.

Pricing and Storage Options

The Poco X8 Pro Max is expected to start at €529 (around $610) for the 256 GB storage variant, with an additional €50 (about $60) increase for double the storage. The benchmarks also shed light on the potential performance of this device.

Based on the results, single-core averages of 2,673 position the Poco X8 Pro Max ahead of earlier flagships powered by Dimensity 9400 and Dimensity 9400 Plus. However, it still falls over 10% short when compared to the OnePlus 15R, which is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (currently priced at $699 on Amazon). In terms of multi-core performance, averages of 8,471 show that the Poco X8 Pro Max lags behind devices powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Dimensity 9500 that we’ve tested so far. Xiaomi is anticipated to globally unveil the Poco X8 Pro Max on March 17.
