Xiaomi is gearing up to release its new flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which is expected to hit the market in early 2025. This device will come equipped with an impressive camera module that boasts top-notch specifications.
Camera Specifications
The 15 Ultra will include a stunning 50-megapixel main sensor with a focal length of 23mm and an f/1.6 aperture. Additionally, the smartphone will feature two telephoto lenses; one of these is said to have an astounding 200MP sensor, offering 4.3x optical zoom, a 100mm focal length, and an f/2.6 aperture.
Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster on Weibo, has revealed more insights about the second telephoto sensor. Interestingly, this sensor isn’t much of an upgrade; it still uses the same Sony IMX858 sensor found in the previous Xiaomi 14 Ultra, complete with an f/1.8 aperture and a 1/2.51” sensor size. The focal length, however, has been slightly reduced from 75mm to 70mm.
Additional Features
According to DCS, the dual telephoto camera on the phone will enable telephoto macro mode, and there will be a new camera kit designed to enhance the photography experience. The camera setup will also include a 50MP ultrawide sensor, rounding out its impressive photography capabilities.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumored to sport a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and micro-curved edges. For added security and ease of use, this display will feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
Design and Performance
The smartphone is expected to come in three different material finishes: plain leather, fiberglass, or ceramic. Renders of the device have appeared online, showcasing a sleek black leather variant.
On the performance front, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is likely to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, ensuring robust performance. It may also feature a 6,000mAh battery with capabilities for 90W wired and 80W wireless charging. In terms of software, it is anticipated to run Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0, built on Android 15.
