The Vivo Y29 5G is a recently introduced smartphone in India, with a starting price of about $165. There are different options for storage and memory: users can select from 4, 6, or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, along with either 128 or 256 GB of internal eMMC 5.1 storage. This storage can be expanded by up to one terabyte. However, the device has only two card slots, which means users must decide between expanding storage or using a dual-SIM configuration. While the Vivo Y29 5G supports 5G connectivity, it does not support certain cellular frequencies, including the LTE band 20 that is often used in Europe.
Dimensions and Display
The smartphone's dimensions are 165.8 x 76.1 x 8.1 mm (6.53 x 3.00 x 0.32 in), and it weighs 198 g (0.44 lb). It comes with a 6.68-inch display that has a resolution of 1,608 x 720. The screen can refresh at rates up to 120 Hz, providing smooth visuals. Vivo has chosen to incorporate a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC and equip the device with a massive 5,500 mAh battery that can charge at a speed of up to 44 watts.
Camera Features
The Vivo Y29 5G features a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP front-facing camera. There is a multicolour ring light near the rear cameras, which serves various purposes, including notifying users of alerts. The smartphone includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, operates on Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14, and has an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. Vivo has not shared any additional details about whether the phone will be available in other regions.
