The Vivo V50 has recently been found in another certification database. The soon-to-be-released premium mid-range smartphone has appeared on Malaysia’s SIRIM, signaling that its launch might be just around the corner. Here’s what we know so far.
Vivo V50 on SIRIM: Launch Approaches
The Chinese company’s upcoming Vivo V50 was identified in the SIRIM registry with the model number V2427. Prior to this, the device had also been listed on several other certification platforms, suggesting that an official announcement could happen very soon. While its global release and availability in Malaysia have been confirmed, many specifics about the device remain ambiguous. However, some earlier reports provide additional insight.
Vivo V50 Shows Up on Taiwan’s NCC Certification
The Vivo V40 has also received certifications from EEC (Europe), BIS (India), TDRA (UAE), and NBTC (Thailand). It was even seen on Taiwan’s NCC, which unveiled its design and several key specifications. The smartphone seems to feature a pill-shaped camera module similar to its predecessor and includes Zeiss branding for the camera system. This indicates that it truly carries on the legacy of the Vivo V40 series, proving that the Zeiss partnership from the previous model is not just a one-time collaboration.
Rumors suggest that the Vivo V50 might be a rebranded version of the Vivo S20, albeit with a smaller battery and a sleeker design. The NCC certification has also confirmed two storage options: 12GB RAM with 256GB of storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB of storage. This device is expected to be powered by a robust 6,000mAh battery that supports 90W wired fast charging. Other impressive features include Android 15 OS with FuntouchOS 15, WiFi 6, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS.
