Vivo’s Marketing Blitz Ahead of the X Fold 6 Launch
aVivo’s marketing machine is running at full steam just days ahead of the Vivo X Fold 6’s launch. The phone’s advanced multitasking and PC-replacement capabilities were recently highlighted, along with its camera specs and features, including the 200 mm teleconverter. A promotional video also summarized the key new features. Following all this, the company has now revealed all four color options for the Zeiss-branded foldable – one more than previously expected.
Four Color Variants Revealed
In addition to the main color “Blue Hole” (turquoise), the upcoming Vivo foldable will be available in “Salt Lake” white, “Polar Night” black, and “Black Gold”, which appears to be a slightly lighter shade of grayish-black. The last two options also feature a striking vertical ribbed pattern on the back cover, somewhat reminiscent of the white Vivo X200 Ultra released in 2025. While the turquoise and white variants lack this design element, the “Salt Lake” colorway does include a subtle sand-dune-like pattern.
Durability Tests and Water Resistance
Vivo also shared another video on Weibo showing some form of real-world durability testing. As part of the process, an influencer jumped out of a plane at an altitude of around 4,000 m (13,123 ft). But perhaps more relevant to the Vivo X Fold 6’s durability is the water-jet test, intended to demonstrate that the device is indeed waterproof to IPX9 standard rather than just IPX8. Unfortunately, Vivo’s latest foldable still lacks IP6X dust protection, unlike the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold or the Honor Magic V6, with the latter even boasting an IP69 rating according to official specs. So the presumably quite expensive foldable should probably be handled with care in environments such as a beach.
Battery Performance in Cold and Signal Claims
According to Vivo, the built-in 7,000 mAh battery remains fully functional even at -20°C (-4°F). The aforementioned skydiving test was likely designed to demonstrate the phone’s signal stability. Vivo claims the Global Signal Amplification System 3.0, based on a proprietary 1+4 communication chipset, will maintain a wireless connection even in fast high-rise elevators, high-speed trains, and on highways. The Vivo X Fold 6 has been confirmed for a June 26 launch in China, but it remains unclear whether the device will see a global release.
