  • Redmi Turbo 4 3C Certification Shows 90W Charger, Possible Poco F7

Redmi Turbo 4 3C Certification Shows 90W Charger, Possible Poco F7

Redmi is gearing up to unveil the Redmi K80 series on November 27 in China. This new lineup will consist of two models: the Redmi K80 and the Redmi K80 Pro. The brand has confirmed that there will be no Redmi K80e this time. Interestingly, there are hints that the company may introduce the Redmi Turbo 4, as evidence of this model has appeared in China’s 3C certification database.

    Redmi Turbo 4 Certification Details

A new Redmi device with the model number 24129RT7CC has been listed in the 3C certification database in China. According to trusted source Digital Chat Station, this model corresponds to the Redmi Turbo 4. Notably, this model number is different from the earlier 2412DRT0AC, which was associated with the Turbo 4 in the IMEI database earlier this year.

The 3C certification indicates that the Redmi Turbo 4 could come with a 90W fast charger. It seems that the official launch of the Turbo 4 might occur in December, following the completion of a key certification. A recent leak also mentioned that the Turbo 4 will make its entrance after the K80 series. Additionally, while the K80 models will sport a 2K resolution display, the Turbo 4 will feature a 1.5K resolution screen.

    Possible Turbo 4 Pro Model

There’s buzz that the Turbo 4 series could also include a device known as the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. However, it’s probable that this Pro version will be announced a few months later in China. Digital Chat Station hinted in a previous Weibo post that the Turbo 4 might utilize the upcoming Dimensity 8400 chipset, while the Pro variant might be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC.

Qualcomm has rebranded the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to Snapdragon 8 Elite, which means the chipset for the Turbo 4 Pro will now be labeled as the Snapdragon 8s Elite. Both models are expected to be equipped with a battery around 6,000mAh. Similar to the K80 series, both could run on HyperOS 2.0-based Android 15.

    Previous Models and Future Expectations

To refresh our memory, the Redmi Turbo 3 in China was rebranded as the Poco F6 for the global market. Thus, it’s likely that the Redmi Turbo 4 might also be rebranded as the Poco F7 internationally.

  • Dimensity 8400 Specs Leak: Similarities to Dimensity 9400 CPU/GPU

Dimensity 8400 Specs Leak: Similarities to Dimensity 9400 CPU/GPU

Earlier this week, a report hinted that MediaTek’s next Dimensity 8400 SoC could use an all-big-core setup, similar to the more robust Dimensity 9400. Now, it appears that this rumor may hold some truth, based on a new insight from tech insider Digital Chat Station (DCS).

    CPU Architecture Insights

Today, DCS revealed information regarding the CPU structure of the new SoC, indicating a core design packed with ARM’s high-performance cores. The Dimensity 8400 is expected to come equipped with an octa-core CPU featuring a 1+3+4 configuration, manufactured on TSMC’s 4nm process. Central to its performance is the ARM Cortex-A725 core, which is clocked at over 3GHz.

    Core Configuration

Interestingly, it’s not just a single Cortex-A725 in this setup; MediaTek is reportedly bringing in three additional cores, each running slightly under 3GHz but still close to the primary core’s speed. For lighter workloads, MediaTek is said to be using three ARM Cortex-A720 cores, which are regarded as “premium efficiency” cores. This is a significant improvement from the Cortex-A510 cores utilized in the Dimensity 8300. These A720 cores are expected to function efficiently around the 2.0GHz range, making them suitable for everyday tasks. Even the Dimensity 9400 uses these cores.

    Graphics and Performance

On the graphics side, the Dimensity 8400 is likely to have some familiar features. It is rumored that the chip will incorporate the same GPU IP – the Arm Immortalis-G925 – as found in its more powerful counterpart, the Dimensity 9400. Whether it will maintain the same number of cores is still unknown. DCS also noted that the performance of the chipset is still being optimized, which means that the final clock speeds and performance metrics could still change.

At this point, it’s uncertain which smartphone will be the first to utilize the Dimensity 8400. However, speculation suggests it may appear in either the upcoming Redmi K80 series or Oppo’s Reno 13 lineup. We can anticipate more information about these devices, along with the final specifications of the Dimensity 8400, to emerge in the upcoming weeks. We will keep you posted on these developments.

Shortly after this announcement, Thomas confirmed that Redmi will also introduce a smartphone powered by the Dimensity 9400 chip while keeping details about this upcoming device under wraps. This chip might power the Redmi K80 Ultra that is scheduled for next year.

Reports indicate that the Redmi K80 Pro could be limited to the Chinese market. As for the Redmi K80e and K80, there is a strong possibility that these models will be rebranded as the Poco X7 Pro and the Poco F7 for the international market in 2025.
