Poco F7 First Look: Exciting Details from Latest Leak

The Poco F6, also called the Redmi Turbo 3 in China, made its debut earlier this year as a mid-range device. The standout feature of this phone is its impressive performance, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. Since the Redmi Turbo 3 was rebranded for the global audience as Poco F6, it’s anticipated that the Turbo 4 will be introduced to the world as the Poco F7. Recent leaks provide us an initial glimpse at the new design for the upcoming smartphone.

    Design Leaks

The information leaked from Weibo, a popular Chinese social media platform, shows a possible design for the forthcoming Redmi Turbo 4, which is likely to be unveiled as the Poco F7 on the international stage. The image that got leaked showcases a vertically stacked dual rear camera arrangement. On the front side, a flat display is noticeable with slim bezels and a punch-hole cutout, similar to that of its predecessor.

    Specifications and Features

This new device is set to be equipped with the Dimensity 8400 processor, which hasn’t been launched yet. It’s expected to be a 4nm chip that comes with an Immortalis-G720 MC7 GPU. Furthermore, the smartphone might feature an OLED display boasting a 1.5K resolution and a sizable battery that supports 90W fast charging capabilities.

    Launch Timeline

Initially, the Turbo 4 was projected to hit the market in December. Nevertheless, the most recent updates indicate that the launch has been delayed, and the phone might now make its debut in January for the Chinese market.

In the case of the Poco F6, it was revealed just a month after the Redmi Turbo 3 was introduced. Therefore, it’s quite likely that the Poco F7 will be announced around February for the global audience.

POCO F7 and F7 Ultra Global Launch Imminent, Listed on IMDA

New POCO F Series Smartphones Coming Soon

Exciting news is on the horizon as new POCO F series smartphones are about to be launched globally. Recently, the POCO F7 Pro was discovered on the IMDA certification platform, and now, both the POCO F7 and POCO F7 Ultra have also been found listed on the same database. Let’s dive into the details.

POCO F7 and POCO F7 Ultra Launch Imminent?

According to the IMDA certification (via MySmartPrice), the two new smartphones have been identified with model numbers 24122RKC7G and 2412DPC0AG. While this certification does not disclose specific details about the POCO phones, it does confirm that they will support 5G connectivity, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC. Moreover, this listing suggests that the POCO F7 series is likely to hit the global market in the near future.

POCO F7 Ultra: What to Expect

The names POCO F7 and POCO F7 Ultra were previously found in the IMEI database, with the latter being the first device ever to carry the “Ultra” branding. From what we have gathered so far, the POCO F7 Ultra could potentially be a rebranded version of the Redmi K80 Pro. For those who might not know, the K80 Pro is set to launch soon in China and is expected to showcase high-end specifications and features. Reports indicate that the Redmi K80 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and will feature a 6.67-inch OLED screen with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Power and Performance of POCO F7 Ultra

Rumors also suggest that the POCO F7 Ultra will come with a gigantic 6,000mAh battery that supports 120W wired fast charging. This model may also be the first to introduce wireless fast charging capabilities. Just earlier today, we noted that the Redmi Turbo 4 appeared on the 3C certification with 90W wired fast charging. The POCO F7 is anticipated to launch as a rebranded Redmi Turbo 4, and it could potentially feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 SoC, a 6,000mAh battery, a 1.5K resolution display, and much more.

  • Redmi Turbo 4 Launches After K80 Series in December

Redmi Turbo 4 Launches After K80 Series in December

Xiaomi has a busy timeline ahead for the rest of this year and the start of next. Just last month, they launched the Xiaomi 15, but now, preparations are in motion for the release of the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro in November. After that, a new Redmi device named the Turbo 4 is expected to launch in December, according to a recent leak.

    Details from the Leak

The scoop comes from the tipster Smart Pikachu, who disclosed that the Turbo 4 will feature a display with a resolution of 1.5K in December. Redmi launched its first Turbo series device, the Turbo 3, back in April, indicating that the brand is following a routine of releasing two phones from this lineup annually.

What We Have Learned So Far

From an exclusive leak in August, we found out that the Redmi Turbo 4 is identified by the model number 2412DRT0AC, with the “C” at the end denoting its version for China. For the global market, it will be known as the Poco F7, with the model numbers 2412DPC0AG for worldwide and 2412DPC0AI specifically for the Indian market.

At the moment, specifics about the Turbo 4’s specifications are scarce. In addition to the 1.5K display, there are rumors of it having a plastic frame. As a rebranded version, the Poco F7 is likely to have similar specifications.

    Chipset and Battery Information

There’s currently no word on what chipset will power the Redmi Turbo 4 / Poco F7. It remains unclear if these models will come with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, given that the previous version used the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.

A prior leak does indicate that the Turbo 4 will feature a significantly large battery, although it does not mention the precise size. The Turbo 3 is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 90W fast charging, suggesting that the Turbo 4 / F7 might be equipped with at least a 5,500mAh battery.

  • Poco F7 Nears Launch with Second Certification Approval

Poco F7 Nears Launch with Second Certification Approval

Earlier this month, a new Poco smartphone surfaced in the IMEI database. Identified by the model number 2412DPC0AG, this device is speculated to be the forthcoming Poco F7.

Initially, there was skepticism regarding this listing since the Poco F6 series was only launched three months ago, in May. It was anticipated that its successor, the Poco F7 series, would be introduced around the same period next year, likely in the second quarter of 2025.

    Accelerated Release Cycle

However, it appears that Poco is hastening its F-series release cycle this year. Following the IMEI listing, the purported Poco F7 has now obtained EEC certification, featuring the same model number.

While the certification doesn’t reveal specifics about the phone’s hardware or features, it suggests that the Poco F7 might be released sooner than anticipated.

Based on previous patterns, the Poco F6 received its EEC certification in January of this year and was officially launched in May. If Poco adopts a similar approach with the Poco F7, we might witness the new series being unveiled in December.

    Speculations on Launch Timing

Perhaps the model number "2412" hints at this schedule—"24" for the year and "12" for the month. Nonetheless, this remains speculative as Poco has not confirmed any of these details.

Regardless, the Poco F7 is likely to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 4 for the international market. Meanwhile, the F7 Pro could be a rebranded Redmi K80.

    Redmi K80 Series Launch

The Redmi K80 series is rumored to debut in China this November, making a December release for the Poco F7 series quite plausible. Typically, Xiaomi takes a bit of time to bring its China-exclusive phones to global markets. Although we expected this trend to continue, there seems to be a strategic shift this year. We will keep you informed on any updates regarding the Poco F7 series.
