Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Set to Outperform OnePlus Open 2

PandaFlashPro has provided new details about the Galaxy Z Fold7 and how it will be different from the previous Galaxy Z Fold6, which is currently priced at $1,499.99 on Amazon. Recently, there have been indications that Qualcomm may offer a slower version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for manufacturers creating new foldable smartphones.

New Snapdragon Variants

In this context, Oppo and OnePlus are set to be the first brands to incorporate the ‘SM8750-3-AB’ chipset in their upcoming devices, the Find N5 and Open 2, which are expected to launch later this month. It’s important to note that the SM8750-3-AB features one less Oryon Gen 2 Performance CPU core compared to its SM8750-AB and SM8750-AC siblings, known as the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, respectively.

Performance Insights

Mishaal Rahman has pointed out that reducing the number of Performance cores to five can help lower unnecessary heat output while having a slight effect on multi-core capabilities. Still, PandaFlashPro has reported that the Galaxy Z Fold7 is anticipated to be released later this year with the complete version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, which comes with overclocked CPU and GPU cores. However, early benchmarks showed that this variant did not surpass the performance of the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Cooling and Design Enhancements

PandaFlashPro also mentioned that Samsung plans to address the heat generated by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy with an enhanced vapour chamber cooling system. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is likely to resemble the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition more closely than its predecessor, and it is expected to support a stylus as well.
