Key Takeaways
1. The Samsung Galaxy A56 5G features a new design with a flat frame and slightly sharper edges compared to the A55 5G.
2. The camera module has been redesigned, integrating the triple-camera setup into a single pill-shaped module.
3. The device will come in four color options: gray, pink, green, and black.
4. The Galaxy A56 5G is expected to upgrade from the Exynos 1480 to the Exynos 1580, offering up to 37% more performance.
5. The phone will retain its 120Hz AMOLED display, 5,000mAh battery, and 50MP main camera from the previous model.
A certification from January had already indicated that the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G would sport a new design, but now the well-known leaker Evan Blass has reportedly revealed official product images showcasing the upcoming mid-range device in four distinct colors.
Design Features
Other than a new background image, the front design remains mostly the same, as Samsung still uses a display with fairly narrow bezels, though the chin at the bottom of the screen is a bit wider. The frame is flat, and the volume buttons along with the power button are positioned in a frame that has slightly sharper edges compared to the Galaxy A55 5G, which arguably gives it a more unique look.
Camera Module Changes
The most significant change is in the camera setup on the back of the phone. Rather than having three separate lenses that protrude from the body, the triple-camera is now integrated into a single pill-shaped module that resembles the setup on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. The Galaxy A56 5G is expected to come in gray, pink, green, and black.
Hardware Upgrades
Besides these design updates, there are only small improvements rumored regarding the other hardware. Specifically, the South Korean brand is anticipated to swap out the Exynos 1480 for the newer Exynos 1580, which reportedly provides up to 37% more performance according to Samsung. However, the Galaxy A56 5G will likely maintain the same 120Hz AMOLED display with a 1080p+ resolution and the 5,000mAh battery, along with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro camera that were also available on the last model.
