Samsung Aims to Outperform Huawei Mate X with New Tri-Fold Phone

Samsung has been a leader in the foldable smartphone industry since it started about five years ago. However, companies like Honor and Oppo have introduced more innovative designs recently, especially with their Magic V3 and the OnePlus Open, which is currently priced at $1,299 on Amazon.

Huawei's Unique Offering

Additionally, Huawei stands out as the only brand to have launched a 'tri-fold' device. This gadget can transform from a 10.2-inch tablet into a compact 6.4-inch smartphone. Currently, the Mate XT is available only in China, but Huawei plans to make it available globally in the first quarter of 2024.

Samsung's Future Plans

As reported by ETNews, Samsung is still working on an alternative, even if there’s no immediate release in sight. It seems like the company is taking a new direction with its Galaxy Fold, which debuted in early 2019. That original model had several issues, like a small cover display and an odd foldable screen, but Samsung fixed most of these problems with the Galaxy Z Fold2, which came out about a year and a half later.

Samsung is allegedly concentrating on creating what it believes will be the 'best' tri-fold phone, which ETNews has described as a 'foldable phone that folds twice.' At this point, it’s uncertain when Samsung will unveil a prototype, let alone a retail version. However, they have just launched the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is still available for global orders, even though it was initially released only in South Korea.
