Redmi is set to introduce a new smartphone in India very soon. The brand's official X account (previously known as Twitter) has hinted at a device named “2025G,” suggesting an upcoming launch early next year.
Device Speculation
Although the company hasn't officially revealed the name, insider Paras Guglani believes it will be the Redmi 14C 5G, aimed at both global and Indian consumers. The Redmi 14C 5G is thought to be a worldwide version of the Chinese Redmi 14R 5G and was seen on Geekbench in October, where it confirmed the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor.
Expected Features
The specifications of the Redmi 14R 5G offer clues about what to expect from the 14C 5G. This device is said to have a 6.88-inch display with a resolution of 1640 × 720 pixels, a peak brightness of 600 nits, and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. It will also support DC dimming, provide eye protection, and work well even with wet hands.
With the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset at its core, the phone is rumored to come with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It will likely feature a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Additionally, the device is expected to pack a 5160mAh battery with 18W charging support, measuring 171.88mm x 77.8mm x 8.22mm.
Launch Timeline and Other Developments
While the global version is anticipated to keep these main features, there may be some regional variations for the Redmi 14C 5G. Pricing, specific features, and the official launch date are still not confirmed, as Redmi has not made any formal announcements yet. However, there’s speculation that the brand could launch the device in India on January 10, along with the Xiaomi Pad 7.
In separate news, Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil the Redmi Turbo 4 in its home market, equipped with the newly launched Dimensity 8400 processor. This phone is expected to come with a 1.5K resolution 6.67-inch LTPS OLED display, a large 6,550mAh battery, and a plastic frame with a glass back finish. It’s likely that this device will be rebranded as the POCO F7 for the international market.
