Poco Launches Poco Pad: Enters the Tablet Market

Poco, the Xiaomi sub-brand, has introduced its inaugural tablet – the Poco Pad. While it doesn't offer groundbreaking features, the Poco Pad aims to be a mid-range option suitable for both entertainment and productivity. Let's dive into its specifications and features.

Poco Pad Specifications

The Poco Pad features a 12.1-inch 120Hz LCD display with a 2.5K resolution and support for 68 billion colors. It provides a comfortable viewing experience with a peak brightness of 600 nits and DC dimming to ensure flicker-free visuals at lower brightness levels.

With a 16:10 aspect ratio, it caters to both entertainment and productivity needs. The tablet also includes quad speakers with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support for an enhanced video streaming experience.

Design-wise, the Poco Pad sports a sleek metal unibody design, measuring just 7.52mm in thickness and weighing 571g. It is available in two color options: Gray and Blue.

Battery life is another strong point, with Poco claiming that its 10,000mAh battery can last up to 16 hours of continuous video playback. The tablet supports 33W fast charging, and Poco claims that a 15-minute charge can provide enough power for 26 hours of music playback.

Processing and Memory

Under the hood, the Poco Pad is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. It offers 256GB of storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card slot that supports cards up to a whopping 1.5TB.

The tablet runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS, offering integration features with compatible HyperOS phones. Users can cast their phone screen to the tablet, drag and drop content between devices, and share a clipboard. A single tap allows for phone tethering.

Accessories and Additional Features

To enhance the tablet's functionality, Poco offers several accessories. The Poco Pad Cover provides basic protection, the Poco Pad Keyboard boosts productivity, and the Poco Smart Pen is available for note-taking and sketching.

Price and Availability

Starting today, the Poco Pad can be purchased at an introductory price of $300 for the sole 8GB/256GB configuration. Once the launch promotion ends, the price will increase to $330. The Poco Pad Keyboard is available for $80, the Poco Smart Pen for $60, and the basic cover for $20.
