POCO F4 HyperOS Update: Finally Arrives!

Xiaomi is progressively introducing HyperOS updates to more devices, with the recent rollout being to the POCO F4. This move follows the earlier update of HyperOS to the Xiaomi 11T Pro. The HyperOS update for the POCO F4, labeled as OS, brings a range of improvements to the device.

Enhancements Offered by HyperOS

Xiaomi's HyperOS update aims to enhance user experience by providing additional customization options. These include enhanced homescreen and widget animations, as well as various lockscreen styles. The update builds upon MIUI's existing customization features, making the user interface more dynamic and engaging.

POCO F4 Receives HyperOS Update

The POCO F4, previously operating on MIUI 14 based on Android 13, has now received the HyperOS update through the OS release. This update transitions the device to HyperOS based on Android 14. While the update has been rolled out to global devices, denoted by the "MI" designation in the version number, it may take some time for it to reach all regions. It's important to note that only users registered on Mi Pilot will initially receive this update, with public releases slated for a later stage.

Update Details and Specifications

The HyperOS update for the POCO F4 weighs approximately 5GB and includes the April 2024 security patch. Despite being introduced two years ago in June, the POCO F4 remains a capable device in 2024, powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset. This chipset, though still robust for various tasks, was initially paired with Android 12. The Android 14 update signifies the final Android upgrade for the POCO F4, ensuring that the device stays relevant with the latest software enhancements.
