Oppo Reno 13 First Look: iPhone-Inspired Design Revealed

Oppo is likely to reveal its new Reno smartphone series, known as the Reno 13, in just a few weeks. Before the official announcement, a picture of the Reno 13 has surfaced online, giving us a sneak peek at this upcoming mid-range device.

First Glimpse of Reno 13

The image was shared on Weibo by the well-known leaker, Digital Chat Station. It displays a partial view of the Reno 13 alongside an iPhone 15, showcasing the resemblance between Oppo's latest offering and Apple’s 2023 model.

A Fresh Design Approach

The picture indicates that Oppo is moving towards a new design for its Reno smartphones. The rectangular camera setup from the Reno 12 has been replaced with a unique transparent squircle glass, reminiscent of the iPhone 15. Additionally, Oppo has implemented a seamless glass mold, although the camera layout is distinct to set it apart from Apple's design. The Reno 13 features a round LED flash, in contrast to the pill-shaped one seen in its predecessor.

Frame and Build Quality

Oppo has also revamped the frame of the Reno 13. It resembles the frame of the iPhone 15 (which can be found on Amazon for $566), and we are hopeful that it utilizes the same recycled aluminum for improved durability, especially since the Reno 12 came with a shiny, mirror-like plastic frame.

While Oppo hasn't confirmed the launch date for the Reno 13 series, previous leaks suggest it could be unveiled on November 25 in China. There are expected to be at least two variants: a standard model and a pro version. The pro variant is rumored to feature a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera that offers 3x optical zoom.
