OPPO K12 Plus Launch: Flagship Battery, Charging & Durability

The OPPO K12 Plus is expected to be introduced as a smartphone that can handle tough conditions while keeping the same "Tough Esthetics" as its standard version (which is a Chinese variant of the OnePlus Nord CE4, priced at INR 23,499 (~$255) on Amazon India).

Launch Details

The phone is anticipated to launch on October 12, 2024, and OPPO has suggested that the Plus model might feature a larger battery than the original K12, which was notable at its debut alongside the OnePlus 12R and Nord CE4 for their impressive 5,500mAh capacity.

Charging Capabilities

However, it's important to note that the K12 Plus will likely have slower charging speeds compared to those 100W models. Still, OPPO claims that users will benefit from its new "Endurance Edition" 80W SUPERVOOC technology. It is expected to include a fresh dual-port gallium nitride (GaN) charger, which could potentially charge the K12 Plus to 50% in just 20 minutes.

Additional Features

Interestingly, the upcoming high-end Find X8 series is also rumored to support 80W charging. Furthermore, the K12 Plus will reportedly be the flagship device for an engaging OPPO initiative, allowing users in select Chinese cities to borrow or return a 33W SuperVOOC power bank at designated locations in a 'battery swap' format.

Despite all the excitement surrounding the K12 Plus, it is still unclear if it will feature the same Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 platform found in the regular version.

OPPO shared this information via Weibo.
