Oppo Find X8 Series Launching October 24 with Dimensity 9400 Chip

Oppo has revealed that its Find X8 series flagship smartphones will be launched on October 24 in China. The company confirmed that this series will be driven by the new Dimensity 9400 SoC, which uses TSMC’s advanced second-generation 3nm process technology.

Details on the Launch

The Find X8 series will feature several models, including the Oppo Find X8, Find X8 Pro, and the Find X8 Pro Satellite Communication Version. Additionally, the lineup will introduce the Find X8 Ultra, which is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The release of the Ultra model is expected in January 2025.

Images that have been leaked suggest that the Find X8 series will maintain a round camera module design on the back. The Pro version is likely to have a quad-camera setup that includes dual periscope telephoto lenses, while the standard version will come with a triple camera setup featuring a single periscope lens. Furthermore, the series is predicted to include a Camera Control button similar to that of the iPhone 16 series.

Specifications and Features

The front display of the Find X8 series will showcase a micro-quad-curved OLED screen. All models in this lineup are confirmed to support 50W magnetic wireless charging and will operate on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. Similar to the Reno 12 series, the Find X8 models are also expected to incorporate an off-network communication feature known as BeaconLink.

The Dimensity 9400 processor boasts a second-generation all-big-core CPU architecture, featuring a high-performance Cortex-X925 core with a clock speed of 3.62GHz, alongside three Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores. This arrangement enhances single-core performance by 35% and multi-core performance by 28% over its predecessor.

Performance Enhancements

Moreover, the processor is built on a PC-level Armv9 architecture with doubled cache capacity and is the first to support 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X memory, which significantly improves speed and efficiency. These advancements lead to a 40% decrease in power consumption under similar performance conditions, giving users extended battery life while maintaining high performance. Recently, the Find X8 Pro Satellite Edition with the Dimensity 9400 was seen achieving an impressive score of 2,880,0558 on AnTuTu benchmarks.

The global launch of the Find X8 series appears to be on the horizon, as the Find X8 and X8 Pro have also received certification in several countries, including India, Indonesia, and Thailand.
