Oppo has officially announced that the highly anticipated Oppo Find N5 will launch in China come February. The company claims it will be the thinnest foldable phone in the world. This suggests that they might have made efforts to minimize the camera bulge. A recent leak from tipster Experience More gives us some insight into the design of the N5’s camera module.
Insights on Camera Design
The leaked information reveals that the Oppo Find N5 features a rear-facing circular camera module with a straightforward arrangement, which bears a resemblance to the centered layout seen on the OnePlus 13. In this design, the flash is located in the bottom-right corner, while the square-shaped periscope telephoto lens sits in the top-left corner.
The camera bump on the Find N5 appears to be well-managed, although the slim design of the phone restricts how much the protrusion can be minimized. Reports indicate that the thickness of the Find N5 could measure around 8mm when folded and about 4mm when unfolded.
Potential for Rebranding
One possible explanation for the N5’s camera module looking similar to that of the OnePlus 13 is that it might be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 in regions like the US, Europe, and India. This implies that the design of the Open 2 could take cues from the OnePlus 13, promoting a uniform design language and familiarity in both devices.
