Oppo is preparing to introduce the slimmest foldable phone available, named the Find N5. When opened, it is anticipated to be about 4mm thick, which is thinner than the Honor Magic V3 that has a thickness of 4.35mm. The initial release of this device might be limited, but there are rumors circulating that it will also be available as the OnePlus Open 2 in certain markets.
Launch Details
While Oppo hasn’t disclosed the exact date for the launch, they have confirmed that the OnePlus Open 2 will have its grand reveal in February. Even though the phone hasn’t been fully presented yet, company representatives have teased several aspects of it. The latest teaser comes from Billy Zhang, who is the President of Overseas Marketing at Oppo.
Comparisons and Teasers
In the teaser shared by Zhang, the Oppo Find N5 gets compared with the iPad Pro M4, which is recognized as Apple’s slimmest tablet. The image indicates that the foldable phone is indeed thinner. However, it’s uncertain if the tablet depicted is the 13-inch version or the 11-inch model (512 GB WiFi currently priced at $1,099.99 on Amazon), since the larger one is 5.1mm thick. In previous comparisons, the foldable was also shown alongside the iPhone 16 Pro Max and various everyday items like coins and credit cards.
Design and Features
Recent leaked images have shown that the OnePlus Open 2 will feature a reduced camera bump on the back. This less pronounced bump, compared to its earlier model, gives the foldable phone a sleek look even when it’s folded. Additional details from recent leaks reveal a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a tweaked Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and an alert slider.
