OnePlus Watch 3 Design Revealed in Certification Listing

OnePlus Watch 3 Design Revealed in Certification Listing

The OnePlus Watch 3 rumor mill continues to churn as the device has been listed on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) certification database in China, following a series of previous certifications. This development suggests that the smartwatch’s launch may be imminent.

The MIIT listing indicates the smartwatch’s model number as OPWW234, consistent with model numbers found in certifications by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and TUV Rheinland. Given the naming pattern of its predecessor, the OnePlus Watch 2 (model number OPWWE231), it is highly probable that the new device is the OnePlus Watch 3.

Design and Features

The OnePlus Watch 3 seems to maintain the round watch face design and features two physical buttons on its right side for user interaction. The design closely resembles the OnePlus Watch 2, indicating that this new iteration might be more of a refinement rather than a complete redesign.

Although the full technical specifications remain undisclosed, some details have surfaced: the OnePlus Watch 3 will feature a 500mAh battery and will support 10W fast charging. The CMIIT certification also hints at eSIM support, enabling cellular connectivity.

Rumored Specifications

There is speculation that the OnePlus Watch 3 could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear W5 SoC or potentially the yet-to-be-released Snapdragon W5 Gen 2.

A report from last month suggested that the OnePlus Watch 3 would launch alongside other devices such as the OnePlus Pad 2, OPPO Pad 3, and Enco X3 TWS earbuds in May. However, this launch has reportedly been delayed.

With the MIIT certification now secured, it seems the official unveiling of the OnePlus Watch 3 might not be too far off, although we still await formal announcements.
