OnePlus Pad 2024 Launch: Affordable Tablet with MediaTek SoC

Oppo has just unveiled the Pad 3, marking it as the first Android tablet powered by the Dimensity 8350. This MediaTek system-on-chip (SoC) is a minor upgrade over the Dimensity 8300. The eight-core processor includes the new gaming-oriented StarSpeed Engine, which is said to improve power efficiency by 10% and enhance scene transition speed by 24%.

Rebranding to OnePlus

Recently, this Oppo tablet has been rebranded as the 2024 OnePlus Pad. The essential specifications remain unchanged. The new tablet measures just 6.29 mm in thickness and has a weight of roughly 533 grams, making it easy to carry around. Its sleek and lightweight design is perfect for travel.

Display and Design Features

On the front, the OnePlus Pad features an 11.61-inch LCD display with a peak brightness of 700 nits, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, and broad DCI-P3 color range. The back design is largely similar to its predecessor, sporting a circular camera module with an 8 MP sensor.

Impressive Battery Life

The 2024 OnePlus Pad also boasts a commendable battery. It includes a 9,520 mAh battery that supports fast charging at 67 watts (the 140-watt Anker 737 is currently priced at $106.48 on Amazon). According to the company, a full charge allows for up to 16 hours of video playback. In terms of software, it operates on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, but the global version might feature OxygenOS 15.

Additional Features and Pricing

Other notable features of the OnePlus Pad are stylus support, an 8 MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4. In China, the initial launch price of the tablet is set at CNY 1,999 (approximately $273). While there's no official announcement on its global availability, it might be introduced internationally at the upcoming OnePlus 13 series launch event.
