OnePlus Open 2 Specs Leak: 5700mAh Battery, 50MP Cameras, Slim Design

Prominent leaker Digital Chat Station has recently revealed important specifications for the upcoming OnePlus Open 2 and Oppo Find N5 foldable smartphones. Both devices, similar to their earlier versions, the OnePlus Open and Oppo Find N3 (which we reviewed), are believed to share the same design. The OnePlus model is set to be released globally, while the Oppo version will be exclusive to China. Both smartphones are anticipated to debut in the first quarter of 2025.

Slim Design Expected

In a Weibo post, the leaker mentioned that the “extreme slimness” is likely to be the key highlight of these new foldables. This aligns with previous statements suggesting they might be slimmer than the current record-holder, the 9.2 mm thick Honor Magic V3 (check out our review here). Even though the overall design is expected to remain unchanged, featuring a prominent round camera module, the screen size is rumored to increase, though the exact dimensions remain unspecified.

Enhanced Camera and Battery

Regarding the camera setup, the new models are said to include three 50 MP Hasselblad-tuned cameras: a main camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a periscope telephoto lens with 3x zoom capabilities. Additionally, the battery is reportedly getting a substantial upgrade to 5,700 mAh (using a dual-cell configuration), compared to the previous 4,805 mAh, and will support wireless charging.

Powerful Performance Ahead

The new foldable devices will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, which is also expected to feature in several upcoming flagship phones like the OnePlus 13, Xiaomi 15 series, iQoo 13, RedMagic 10 Ultra, and Asus ROG Phone 9.

Interestingly, some of these specifications seem to conflict with recently leaked information from other sources, which suggest a larger 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery and a quad-camera arrangement similar to what’s expected on the Oppo Find X8 Ultra. As the launch date approaches, we can anticipate more information to surface.
