OnePlus Nord 4: 4 Years OS Updates, 6 Years Software Support

OnePlus is preparing to introduce the Nord 4 smartphone to the international market on July 16th. The device is expected to feature impressive specifications, including a fully metallic body. Recently, the company has also shared details about the software support for this new model.

According to OnePlus, the Nord 4 will receive 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of software support. While flagship smartphones typically receive similar software update policies, the Nord 4 stands out as a mid-range device with such extensive support. This is the longest support duration OnePlus has ever provided for any of its smartphones.

OnePlus Nord 4 specifications

The forthcoming Nord 4 is set to sport a 6.74-inch 1.5K OLED Tianma U8+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2150 nits, similar to the Nord 3’s screen size.

Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC paired with an Adreno GPU, replacing the Nord 3’s Dimensity 9000 SoC. The device is anticipated to come with at least 8GB of RAM and storage options that might include 128GB and 256GB.

The phone will likely feature a substantial 5,500mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging, an upgrade from the Nord 3’s 5,000mAh battery and 80W charging capabilities.

Camera setup

Regarding its camera system, the OnePlus Nord 4 may have a dual-lens rear setup with a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. This setup would be a slight downgrade from the Nord 3, which includes a triple camera system consisting of a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP sensor.
