Recently, the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro were discovered in the records of China's MIIT authority, which showed images of one of the devices. The certification details have been updated, revealing almost all the key specs of these sub-flagship models that are set to launch on December 26 in China.
Differences in Specifications
The leaks and certification listings confirm that the OnePlus Ace 5 (model number: PKG110) and Ace 5 Pro (model number: PKR110) share many specifications. The primary differences between these two devices are their chipsets, battery capacities, and charging speeds.
Display and Operating System
Both the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro sport a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels. Likely, both models will support a refresh rate of 120Hz and will come equipped with an optical in-screen fingerprint scanner. Similar to the OnePlus 13, the Ace 5 series is anticipated to ship with ColorOS 15 based on Android 15.
Performance and Memory Options
According to the certification documents, the OnePlus Ace 5 operates on a 3.3GHz octa-core chipset, while the Ace 5 Pro is powered by a 4.3GHz octa-core chipset. They both use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 8 Elite processors, respectively. The devices will come in five configurations: 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB.
Battery and Charging
The Ace 5 has a rated battery capacity of 6,285mAh, while its typical value appears to be 6,400mAh. In contrast, the Ace 5 Pro features a dual-cell battery with one cell rated at 2,970mAh. Rumors suggest that the Pro version may have a typical battery value of 6,100mAh. Reports indicate that the Ace 5 will support 80W charging, while the Pro variant could offer 100W charging.
Camera Features
Both models are equipped with a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies. On the rear, both devices have a 50-megapixel main camera, along with 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel secondary cameras. Although the megapixel count is the same for both, it’s yet to be determined if they utilize different primary camera sensors. An IR blaster is also included in both models.
Dimensions and Build
The dimensions of the Ace 5 are 161.72 x 75.77 x 8.02mm and it weighs 206 grams, whereas the Ace 5 Pro measures 161.72 x 75.77 x 8.14mm and weighs 203 grams. There is no information available regarding the IP rating for the Ace 5, but the Pro model will come with an IP65-rated body. The Ace 5 will be offered in colors such as Gravitational Titanium, Full Speed Black, and Celestial Porcelain, while the Ace 5 Pro will be available in Moon White Porcelain, Submarine Black, and Starry Purple.
Upcoming Launch Event
OnePlus has scheduled a launch event for January 7 to introduce the 13 series. Speculations suggest that the OnePlus 13R, launching alongside the OnePlus 13, will be a more affordable version of the Ace 5.
