OnePlus is set to be one of the first Chinese brands to introduce a smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, known as the OnePlus 13. This reveal is anticipated to occur shortly after Qualcomm officially unveils its next-generation flagship system-on-chip (SoC). Recently, trusted leaker Digital Chat Station provided a sneak peek at the potential rear design of the device.
Front Display Details
Louis Lee, the president of OnePlus, has now unveiled the front design of the smartphone. In a post on Weibo, he confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will come with a BOE X2 display. For reference, the previous model featured a BOE X1 screen, and the new X2 is expected to include several enhancements.
The image shared by Lee suggests that the OnePlus 13's display features "micro-curvature" on all four edges. This design element is also being adopted by Oppo and Vivo in their upcoming Find X8 and X200 models, respectively. The "micro-curved" display is believed to combine the benefits of both a standard curved and a flat screen.
Display Features and Specifications
The image indicates that the BOE X2 display on the OnePlus 13 has relatively slim bezels, a trend that many Chinese manufacturers are embracing for their flagship devices. Although Louis Lee did not disclose specific specifications, rumors suggest that this LTPO display will measure 6.82 inches, offer a 120 Hz refresh rate, and have a 2K resolution.
In addition to the display, other anticipated specifications for the OnePlus flagship include up to 24 GB of LPPDR5X RAM, a robust 6,000 mAh battery, 50W wireless charging, and support for wired 120W fast charging. For context, a 25K Ugreen 145W power bank is currently priced at $99.99 on Amazon. The smartphone is also expected to feature an enhanced camera system utilizing the same image processing algorithm as the Oppo Find X8.
