Nothing is reportedly working on three new smartphones set to launch in 2025. The flagship device will be called the Phone (3), while the other two models, the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus, will cater to the mid-range and premium mid-range markets.
Latest Certifications
One of these three models has been spotted on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) and UL Demko certification lists. Although it’s unclear which specific smartphone this model number corresponds to, a report from 91Mobiles hints that it might be either the Phone (3a) or the Phone (3a) Plus.
Battery and Features
The BIS listing, as is typical, gives minimal information about the device aside from its model number and approval for entry into the Indian market. On the other hand, the UL Demko certification reveals that the phone has a battery capacity of 4290mAh. While this may be the actual capacity, it’s likely that Nothing will market it as a 5000mAh battery.
Reports indicate that the Nothing Phone (3a) series will bring significant improvements. The Phone (3a) is anticipated to feature a telephoto camera, while the Plus variant may go further with a periscope telephoto lens, marking a first for Nothing in the mid-range segment. Additionally, both models are rumored to support eSIM technology.
Processor Upgrade
There could also be a shift from MediaTek to Qualcomm in this series. The Phone (3a) and (3a) Plus are expected to be driven by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, promising enhanced performance and efficiency compared to earlier models.
Currently, the Nothing Phone (2a) and (2a) Plus are positioned as mid-range phones, costing under ₹30,000 in India. If Nothing follows its previous pricing strategy, we can expect the new models to fall within a similar price range.
While the certification details provide a glimpse into what’s coming, further information is necessary to validate the complete specifications and features of the Nothing Phone (3a) series.
