After the successful launch of the iQOO 12 series in China, the smartphone is now ready to make its way to international markets. The first stop on its global journey is India, where it is set to hit shelves on December 12. This news comes after the device appeared on various public certifications, including Malaysia’s SIRIM and the Bluetooth SIG.
Confirmation of the global launch comes from the listing on the Bluetooth SIG, which also reveals the presence of Bluetooth 5.4 on the device. However, most of the specifications for the iQOO 12 are already known, and the certifications simply serve as a confirmation of its upcoming availability worldwide.
iQOO Specifications
The iQOO 12 boasts a large 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with a high 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1.5K. The display offers 2160PWM DC dimming and an impressive peak brightness of 3000 nits. Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, and it comes pre-installed with Android 14, making it the first smartphone in India to launch with this version of Android out of the box.
In terms of camera capabilities, the iQOO 12 features a triple-rear camera setup. This includes a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x Zoom. For selfies, there is a 16MP front-facing camera.
When it comes to memory and storage options, the iQOO 12 offers impressive choices. It is available in 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and comes with either 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Battery life is also a strong point for the iQOO 12, as it comes equipped with a 5000mAh battery. Additionally, it supports 120W fast charging, ensuring that users can quickly recharge their device. The Pro version of the smartphone will have a slightly larger 5100mAh battery and will support 50W wireless charging.
The iQOO 12 is being launched in three attractive color options: Burning Way, Legend Edition, and Track Version. As for pricing in India, it remains to be seen. In China, the device was launched with a starting price of 3,999 yuan, which is approximately Rs 45,000.
