Polish gaming site PPE has gotten info about a new PS5 Pro model and controller that might be released as soon as November. There isn’t much information available yet, but the updated PlayStation console is said to have better power efficiency. On the other hand, similar to Xbox controllers, the upcoming DualSense V3 will let gamers swap out the battery easily.

Source of the Leak

Graczdari, who previously revealed the physical edition of Oblivion Remastered and the PS5 version of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, is the one behind this leak. However, Sony has not confirmed if any new PS5 controllers or consoles are actually coming. They also didn’t give much notice before the PS5 Slim Digital with lower storage launched in Europe.

New Model Information

Recently, another PS5 Pro model, identified as CFI-7121, has been seen. It remains uncertain what connection, if any, this model has to the console mentioned by PPE. Gamers have speculated that Sony has found cheaper parts to prevent another price hike for the PS5.

Graczdari anticipates that this leaked console will use 3% less power than the current PS5 Pro. Sony has been working hard to enhance the efficiency of its gaming systems. In a system update on September 17, existing PS5 consoles received a new power-saving mode. While this might lower performance in games, it could benefit a rumored PS6 handheld that’s in the works.

Exciting Controller Updates

Fans might be more thrilled about the idea of a new PS5 controller. PPE believes that the DualSense V3 will come along with the more energy-efficient PS5 Pro. It could also take the place of older controller models and be sold separately. Having a removable battery would provide gamers with more flexibility when their power runs low during intense gaming sessions.

Gamers have been urging Sony to adopt Hall effect technology to reduce stick drift issues. Even the expensive DualSense Edge pro controller does not include these more robust analog sticks. Sadly, Graczdari hasn’t been able to confirm if the joysticks on the DualSense V3 will be any more durable. There have been multiple hardware updates to the DualSense, but none have shown significantly different performance or features.
