Bait, a well-known streetwear label, has once again teamed up with Casio to unveil a limited-edition G-Shock DW5600. This new collaboration, named “Innovation,” pays tribute to the rise of personal tech in the 1980s, aligning with the original launch of the famous DW5600 model in 1983.
Design Features
The Bait x Casio G-Shock DW5600 features a striking white resin case, strap, and octagonal bezel. The design is inspired by Apple's branding from the 80s, showcasing a rainbow-striped flame icon along with a matching font on the band. The dial is enhanced with glow-in-the-dark details around the green negative LCD, which improves visibility in dim light and adds a nostalgic vintage feel.
G-Shock Heritage
In keeping with G-Shock's legacy, this watch comes equipped with standard features like a stopwatch, countdown timer, alarm, plus 200-meter water resistance. It has a shock-resistant resin build, a mineral glass face, and an electro-luminescent backlight that glows blue-green. The DW5600 also includes a full auto-calendar (valid until 2099), 12/24-hour time formats, and has an accuracy rating of ±15 seconds each month.
Pricing & Availability
Additional features consist of a multi-function alarm, hourly time signal, and flash alert option. The battery lasts about two years on a CR2016 cell, with a warranty period of two years. This watch will be available for purchase at Bait’s online and physical stores in the U.S. for $150.
In other news, Casio plans to launch its Shiba Inu-themed G-Shock watch collection in the U.S. this November, following a successful launch in Japan last September. This collection honors the beloved Shiba Inu breed, celebrated for its loyalty and distinct look.
