Motorola Teases Slimmest MIL-STD810 Smartphone in India: Edge 50 Neo

Motorola is preparing to introduce a new smartphone in India, with teasers already appearing on its X handle. While the exact name and launch date are still under wraps, it is speculated to be the Motorola Edge 50 Neo, which has been mentioned in recent leaks. The smartphone will be available for purchase on Flipkart.

Slimmest MIL-STD810 Durable Smartphone

Motorola is promoting this new device as the world’s thinnest smartphone with MIL-STD810 military-grade durability. This means it is designed to endure the harshest conditions and accidental drops.

The latest teaser video from the Lenovo-owned brand shows the device in a Green color with a square camera module that stands out from the back panel, reminiscent of OPPO’s Find X series. The teaser reveals three camera sensors and an LED flash unit, all packaged in a slim design. Additional details are expected to be disclosed tomorrow.

Expected Specifications

The new Motorola smartphone is presumed to be the Edge 50 Neo, succeeding last year's Edge 40 Neo. According to recent leaks, the device might have an IP68 rating and be just 8.1mm thick. It could feature a 6.4-inch pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. Under the hood, it is likely to be powered by a Dimensity 7300 SoC and a 4,310mAh battery.

Competitive Landscape

Motorola aims to be the first brand to launch such a slim, military-grade durable smartphone. However, it faces competition from the OPPO K12x, which is set to launch on July 29 with MIL-STD810H certification and measures 7.68mm thick.
