Streaming Capabilities

The Marshall Heddon is capable of streaming audio from various platforms like Spotify Connect, TIDAL, AirPlay, and Google Cast to compatible Marshall Bluetooth speakers. However, it does much more than just send audio to one speaker. The Heddon is designed to connect nearly all Marshall Bluetooth speakers into a single, cohesive multi-room system, which is specifically crafted to ensure perfectly synchronized audio playback across different devices.

Connectivity Features

With the help of Auracast, this synchronization can be extended across multiple rooms if needed. Additionally, a LAN port is provided for those who prefer wired network connections.

There is one important thing to keep in mind: currently, wireless connectivity is only available for Marshall’s Homeline III products. Owners of older Marshall speakers—including Bluetooth variants—can still be part of a multi-room system through RCA, but this is restricted to just one stereo pair (left and right).

Compatibility and Sustainability

Using cables, the Heddon works with older models such as the Acton Bluetooth, Stanmore Bluetooth, Woburn Bluetooth, Acton II Bluetooth, Stanmore II Bluetooth, Woburn II Bluetooth, Kilburn, Kilburn II, Stockwell, Stockwell II, Tufton, Acton Voice, and Stanmore Voice. A turntable can also be connected, making it possible to stream vinyl playback to newer Marshall speakers scattered around the house.

Marshall is continuing its commitment to shifting its product lineup toward greener manufacturing practices. The Heddon consists of 53 percent recycled materials. Of that, 39 percent is metal, with 77 percent of the metal sourced from certified recycled origins. Moreover, the device is entirely free of PVC, including all its electrical cables.
