OnePlus Ace 3 and 12R: Two Devices, Different Markets
The upcoming OnePlus phones, the Ace 3 and the 12R, are reportedly the same devices targeted towards different markets. The Ace 3 is expected to launch on January 4th in China, while the 12R is confirmed to debut alongside the OnePlus 12 on January 23rd in the global market.
Key Specifications of OnePlus 12R
A new leak by reliable leaker Max Jambor has revealed some key specifications of the 12R. While OnePlus confirmed the Ace 3 moniker back in November, it did not launch alongside the OnePlus 12, which was released earlier this month in China. As the expected launch date of the Ace 3 approaches, the brand has released a poster to tease its arrival.
According to Jambor, the 12R will be available in two RAM variants: 8 GB and 16 GB LPDDR5x, along with storage options of 128 GB (UFS 3.1) and 256 GB (UFS 4.0). The device will also come in two colors, Iron Gray and Cool Blue.
Shared Specifications of Ace 3 and 12R
The rest of the specifications for both the Ace 3 and 12R are no secret. It is expected that they will feature a 6.78-inch ProXDR LTPO 4.0 OLED panel with curved edges, offering 1.5K resolution. The display will have a 1Hz-120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, both devices are rumored to come with a 5500mAh battery that supports 100W SuperVOOC charging. In terms of photography, they are expected to have a 16-megapixel front camera and a triple camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel (Sony IMX890, OIS) main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
For software, the devices will run on Android 14 overlaid with either ColorOS 14 (China) or OxygenOS 14 (global).
OnePlus Ace 3 Teaser
In addition to the leaked information, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the OnePlus Ace 3 will also come in a gold variant with a metallic luster, in addition to the gray and blue options. OnePlus has also released an official teaser of the Ace 3, showcasing its design and features, via its Weibo handle.
With the launch dates of the Ace 3 and 12R fast approaching, OnePlus fans and tech enthusiasts alike are eagerly awaiting the official unveiling of these devices.
