Garmin is preparing to release the Forerunner 165, a new entry-level smartwatch that will replace the Forerunner 55. The details of this upcoming model have been leaked ahead of its launch in Europe.
Design and Features
The Forerunner 165 will be available in Black, White, and Turquoise color options. It will come with a larger display and an updated design. Compared to its predecessor, the Forerunner 165 will have slimmer bezels and a less bulky overall design. The redesigned "Run" button will be more accessible, reflecting Garmin's focus on user-friendly features. The standard version of the watch will be priced at €279, while the Music variant, which offers built-in storage for media, will cost €329.
Specifications
The Forerunner 165 will feature a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 390×390 pixels. It will include a barometric altimeter for accurate elevation data and Garmin's "Elevate V4" PPG sensor for precise heart rate monitoring. However, it is worth noting that the battery life of this model may be shorter, lasting for 11 days compared to its predecessor.
Versatility and Storage
The smartwatch will support 20 mm quick-release bands, making it suitable for different wrist sizes. Despite being an entry-level option, the Forerunner 165 Music version will come with 4GB of storage.
