Rumors are circulating that the iQOO 13 will be officially announced in November in China. This release will mark it as one of the initial smartphones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset in the Chinese market. It is anticipated that the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, which are likely to be launched by the end of October, will be the first devices globally to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. Unlike the Xiaomi 15 series, which is heavily focused on camera capabilities, the iQOO 13 is expected to be a performance-centric flagship device. A recent leak from tipster Digital Chat Station provides key insights into the iQOO 13’s display specifications. Here’s what we know about the phone’s screen.
Custom Flat BOE Screen for iQOO 13
China-based BOE hosted the Global Innovation Partner Conference 2024, unveiling its upcoming flagship display technology. According to the tipster, the majority of initial phones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will likely incorporate BOE displays.
Reports indicate that the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro will come with displays supporting 1.5K and 2K resolutions and will feature micro-quad-curved screens. In contrast, the iQOO 13 will sport a custom-made flat display from BOE.
BOE X2 Display Technology
A recent report mentioned that the OnePlus 13 will include the BOE X2 micro-quad-curved display. Digital Chat Station clarified that the BOE X is a specially customized display line designed for companies like OnePlus, Oppo, and Realme, under the Ouga group. Therefore, the display for the iQOO 13 will not carry the “X” branding.
The flat BOE display on the iQOO 13 is expected to support a 2K resolution and is built using advanced light-emitting materials. Testers claim that it embodies next-generation technology and is deemed the best BOE display developed this year.
