So far, there have been numerous leaks uncovering important details about the upcoming iPhone 16 series. Today, a significant leak showcases dummy units for all the phones within the lineup.
The picture has been released by well-known Apple insider Sonny Dickson, who previously unveiled the complete set of machined blanks for the iPhone 16 series, increasing the likelihood of its authenticity.
Camera Layout Changes
A notable alteration can be observed in the camera layout of the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models. They are moving away from the diagonal camera setup seen in their predecessors to a vertical arrangement. On the other hand, the design of the Pro models remains largely unchanged.
Enhancements in Features
The shift to vertical cameras on the standard iPhones is primarily aimed at supporting the recording of spatial videos capable of playback in 3D on the Apple Vision Pro.
Screen Size Modifications
In terms of screen sizes, the Pro models in the iPhone 16 series are undergoing adjustments. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a 6.9-inch display, making it the largest Pro Max model to date, compared to the 6.7-inch screen of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The iPhone 16 Pro will also see a slight increase in screen size to 6.3 inches from the previous 6.1 inches found on the iPhone 15 Pro. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will maintain their screen sizes at 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively.
Speculations and Expectations
While the dummy units do not offer much insight into new design features, speculations around the inclusion of a dedicated Capture button for camera controls have been circulating. However, such features are not visible in these replica units.
As per the usual timeline, the launch of the new iPhones is anticipated in September. Although the wait may seem lengthy, it is probable that additional leaks will surface throughout this period.
