Infinix Unveils Coolmax Prototype Cooling Tech for Gaming Phones

With gaming phones slowly becoming more mainstream day by day, Infinix is introducing its prototype cooling technology called CoolMax, designed to maintain optimal temperatures for gaming phones even during intense usage.

CoolMax reduced the chipset’s temperature by a significant 10 degrees Celsius

Impressive Cooling Performance

Integrated into a concept gaming device, CoolMax has demonstrated remarkable results by reducing the chipset’s temperature by a noteworthy 10°C. This innovative internal system combines a thermo-electric cooler with a fan positioned directly over the chipset, separated only by thermal paste. This setup effectively eliminates the inefficiencies associated with external coolers.

Powerful Performance Features

At the core of this prototype lies MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 processor, equipped with four robust Cortex-X4 cores. This configuration has propelled the device to achieve a groundbreaking AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 2.2 million. The device’s performance is further optimized by an AI platform that intelligently allocates tasks across the CPU cores, ensuring peak efficiency. It is essential to note that these numbers are based on benchmarking and not real-world usage scenarios.

Unlike conventional gaming phones that rely solely on air cooling mechanisms, CoolMax introduces a cooler module utilizing the Peltier effect to achieve temperatures beyond the reach of standard air circulation methods. This advancement allows gamers to experience enhanced performance without the risk of overheating.

Cutting-Edge Display Technology

In addition to its revolutionary cooling system, the concept phone boasts a Pixelworks visual processor that collaborates with the GPU, promising exceptional display refresh rates of up to 180Hz for FHD+ resolutions and 144Hz for QHD+ resolutions. This sets a new benchmark for gaming displays in the industry. Although Infinix has plans to launch a gaming phone later in 2024, specific details regarding the device are still undisclosed. However, the potential displayed in this concept device has raised anticipation for what Infinix has in store for gaming enthusiasts.
