Major Battery Life in a Budget Phone
Honor has officially unveiled its laest budget-range smartphone, the X80 Pro Max, in China. The phone’s main selling feature is its massive battery capacity. Speaking more precisely, the smartphone boasts a massive 11,000 mAh battery with 90 W wired (Ugreen Nexode 100 W charger curr. at $54.99 on Amazon) and 27 W reverse-wired charging support. This is the first smartphone with the largest battery capacity in the brand’s smartphone lineup to date.
Robust Build and Display Specs
The device features the SGS Gold Label 5-star environmental drop resistance certification and triple IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance ratings. In terms of display, the Honor X80 Pro Max has a 6.8-inch LTPS AMOLED display with a resolution of 2788 x 1280 pixels, a peak brightness of 10,000 nits, and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Despite boasting a large battery, the smartphone measures just 8 mm (0.31 inches) in thickness and weighs around 203 grams (0.44 lbs).
Performance, Camera, and Internals
Under the hood, the Honor X80 Pro Max is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, a rather mid-range processor featuring four Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores. It packs 8 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage with no room for storage expansion. Software-wise, it runs Android 16-based MagicOS 10.0 out of the box. However, there’s no word on its software support from the brand. For photography, you get a 50 MP OIS-enabled rear camera and an 8 MP selfie camera.
Pricing, Colors, and Availability
Available in orange, red, black, and moon shadow color options, the Honor X80 Pro starts at CNY 1,999 (~$295) for the base 8 GB + 128 GB model, and the top-end 12 GB + 512 GB variant is priced at CNY 2,799 (~$413).
