A limited-edition G-Shock watch has been launched in partnership with the Japanese fashion label buddix. The buddix x Casio G-Shock DW-5600 offers a fresh twist on the iconic DW-5600 design, showcasing a white background adorned with green and red buddix logos on the strap and etched on the back of the watch.
Features Overview
While the exact features of this timepiece have not been formally detailed, it’s expected to include the essential capabilities found in other DW-5600 versions. These likely consist of a stopwatch that measures in 1/100ths of a second, a countdown timer, several alarms, an hourly chime, a fully automated calendar, a Super Illuminator LED backlight, and an impressive battery life lasting up to five years.
Pricing & Where to Buy
The buddix x Casio G-Shock DW-5600 can be found for sale in Japan, available both online and at the Vertical Garage shop in Nakameguro, Tokyo. The price is set at ¥17,600, which is about $114. Sadly, there’s currently no information regarding a global release for this collaborative watch, and it seems likely that it may remain a Japan-exclusive item.
However, given their popularity, Casio has previously introduced its Shiba Inu-themed G-Shock watches to the international market, so there remains a glimmer of hope that the buddix collaboration could eventually reach fans outside Japan. Another appealing timepiece from the G-Shock DW5600 line is the recent partnership between Casio and the well-known streetwear label Bait, resulting in a striking all-white design inspired by 80s Apple aesthetics, named “Innovation.” This limited-edition watch retails for approximately $150 at both Bait’s online and physical locations in the US.
