WhatsApp Update Allows Users to Send Photos and Videos in Full Quality
WhatsApp, the popular social networking platform, is rolling out an update that will enable users to send photos and videos without compression. This new feature comes just a few months after WhatsApp introduced the ability to send photos in 4K resolution. With this update, WhatsApp users will now have the option to send complete photos and videos without any loss in quality. The update will first be available for iOS devices, with Android devices receiving it shortly after.
Compatibility and Specifications
Meta (formerly Facebook), the parent company of WhatsApp, has been actively making changes to the platform since August. The 4K resolution feature for sending photos and videos is compatible with WhatsApp version 23.11.0.76 on iOS and version 2.23.12.13 on Android. The latest update, WhatsApp version 23.24.73 on Apple devices, allows users to send videos and images without any compression. To utilize this feature, users need to select "Document" instead of "Photo and Video Library" when uploading. The maximum size for uploads is 2GB. The Android version of the update is expected to be released in the near future. While Apple iPhone owners can expect to see the update within days, Android users may have to wait a few weeks.
Additional Features and Rollout Details
In addition to the uncompressed media upload, the latest WhatsApp version also introduces new speech bubbles that indicate missed calls and new reactions to messages based on the user's WhatsApp avatar. However, there is currently no information available regarding the full rollout details for the update on both iOS and Android. Nevertheless, this update offers users the option to maintain the quality of their photos and videos when sharing them through the WhatsApp platform.
It is important to note that while WhatsApp has officially announced these new features, the update may be rolled out to users at different times. The official changelog mentions another feature that allows users to initiate voice chats without ringing everyone in large groups. This feature, along with the bubbles and uncompressed media upload, further enhances the user experience on WhatsApp.
