It has been some time since we got hints that DJI is working on a new model to take over the Osmo Mobile 6 (currently priced at $139 on Amazon). In September 2023, leaker @Quadro_News shared that DJI had started to mention the Osmo Mobile 7 in its mobile applications. Despite this, we haven't seen any details about the gimbal, especially with so many DJI products launching recently.
Signs of a New Release
However, it looks like a replacement for the Osmo Mobile 6 could be close. There isn’t much information available about the new model yet. Nevertheless, a clear indication of an upcoming device release has appeared online thanks to Jasper Ellens and Mauro Tandoi.
DJI has now received certification for the Osmo Mobile 7 from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S., and initial documents for the device have been made public. Sadly, the FCC has not disclosed how the camera gimbal will appear. Instead, the recent certifications suggest that DJI may unveil the Osmo Mobile 7 together with the 'OM Multifunctional Module' and a product called the Osmo Mobile 7P. While we don’t have any additional details about these three items yet, it seems likely that the FCC's document release marks just the start of information leaks regarding the Osmo Mobile 7, rather than being a one-time event.
Looking Ahead
In short, the excitement surrounding the Osmo Mobile 7 is growing, and many are eager for more details. As we wait, it’s clear that DJI is gearing up for something big!
