China is progressively diminishing its reliance on foreign technology. In this vein, companies such as Huawei and BYD often take the spotlight, overshadowing the likes of UNISOC, a company that is quietly making significant contributions. Known for producing chipsets for mobile devices, UNISOC recently gained attention with its T765 5G chip and is now introducing the 7861 chip designed for POS machines.
UNISOC 7861: Empowering Secure and Versatile Payment Terminals
In modern shopping experiences, the convenience of card payments surpasses traditional cash transactions. The shift towards card usage has led to an increased demand for businesses to adopt card payment terminals. Acknowledging this trend, UNISOC has unveiled the UNISOC 7861 chip tailored for these payment terminals.
The UNISOC 7861 chip, crafted using 12nm process technology, integrates a dual high-performance big core Arm Cortex-A75 clocked at 1.6GHz and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at 1.6GHz, complemented by a Mali G57 GPU core. This processor also features support for dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS positioning services, USB Hub, and other essential functionalities.
It is engineered to work seamlessly with LPDDR4x memory and offers compatibility with UFS 2.2 and eMMC5.1 storage interfaces, along with FHD+ display output capabilities. Currently optimized for the Android 12 Go system and the upcoming Android 14 system tailored for limited memory configurations (1GB + 8GB), the UNISOC 7861 processor stands as a robust choice for modern POS machines.
