Apple is anticipated to unveil new iPads soon, potentially consisting of two iPad Pro and two iPad Air models. Recently, two fresh iPads were spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, indicating an upcoming launch in India.

New iPad Models on the Horizon

The BIS listing reveals that the iPads are identified by model numbers A2836 and A2837. However, typical of BIS listings, specific device specifications have not been disclosed, creating uncertainty regarding whether these models belong to the iPad Pro or iPad Air lineup.

Potential Variations and Features

The consecutive model numbers suggest that these iPads might be two variants of the same model, possibly offering distinct screen sizes and connectivity options. Speculations hint at variations such as one model supporting only Wi-Fi and the other featuring both Wi-Fi and 5G capabilities, aligning with Apple's history of releasing iPad Pro models in various sizes.

Rumored Features and Designs

Reports indicate that the upcoming iPad Pro lineup could include 11-inch and 13-inch models, potentially incorporating OLED displays for enhanced viewing experiences and a sleeker device profile.

In addition, leaked sketches of the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models showcase familiar design elements, including a rear camera island situated in the upper left corner and speakers along with a USB-C port at the bottom.

Potential Changes for iPad Air

There are also whispers of a larger 12.9-inch screen variant for the forthcoming iPad Air. Previous renders of the speculated new iPad Air illustrate a front design akin to the 4th or 5th generation models but with an enlarged screen to accommodate the 12.9-inch display. The rear of the device seems to sport an elongated, pill-shaped camera setup reminiscent of the iPhone X and XS models.

There's speculation that the next iPad Air might be equipped with the M2 chip, an upgrade from the current M1 chip.

Apple had plans to introduce updated iPads either this month or in early April but has encountered delays with their next-generation tablets from the Cupertino-based company. Instead, Apple recently unveiled the MacBook Air M3. According to information from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new iPads are now anticipated to launch in May.

The iPad Pro with OLED display is said to come in four variants with codenames J717, J718, J720, and J721, boasting significant improvements since 2018. These upgrades include a faster M3 chip, the inclusion of MagSafe, sleeker designs, and more. On the other hand, the sixth-generation iPad Air in 10.9 and 12.9-inch sizes is anticipated to be powered by the M2 chip.
