  • Galaxy S25 Ultra Camera Vibrating Issue: What You Need to Know

Galaxy S25 Ultra Camera Vibrating Issue: What You Need to Know

    Key Takeaways

    1. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra features a new 50MP ultrawide camera but is experiencing shaking and vibration issues on some devices.
    2. Community discussions about the problem began in February, with users reporting difficulties on platforms like Reddit and Samsung’s Community Forum.
    3. The cause of the issue remains unclear, but it is speculated to be related to the autofocus system, as the camera lacks optical image stabilization (OIS).
    4. The problem appears to affect only a small percentage of the millions of units sold, indicating it might be a manufacturing issue rather than a widespread flaw.
    5. Users experiencing the issue may need to send their devices to Samsung for diagnostics, with potential fixes involving software patches or hardware replacements.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra has been launched with an impressive upgrade, featuring a 50MP ultrawide camera. However, it is facing some surprising difficulties. This new lens, which provides better detail compared to the 12MP ultrawide cameras found in older flagship models, has been reported to shake and vibrate on certain devices, raising alarms among potential buyers.

    Community Feedback

Discussions about this issue began appearing on community forums back in February, but Samsung has not yet provided any feedback. The problem has been highlighted across social media platforms such as Reddit and X, along with Samsung’s Community Forum. Users have noted that the ultrawide (0.6x) camera shows violent shaking and produces stuttering noises, making it difficult to use. Reports on these forums trace back to as early as March 1st.

    Possible Causes

Some device owners believe that a recent software update could be the root of the problem, but the exact cause is still not clear. Unlike the usual camera shake that is associated with optical image stabilization (OIS)—which the S25 Ultra’s ultrawide camera does not have—experts speculate that the autofocus system might be the issue, given the absence of an OIS mechanism.

The complaints don’t seem to be widespread, though, as only a small percentage of the millions of Galaxy S25 units sold worldwide appear to be impacted. This indicates that it could be a manufacturing issue rather than a flaw affecting all devices. Users who have gone to authorized service centers reported that the problem was identified as hardware-related and was fixed free of charge under warranty.

    Impact on Usage

The issue influences both photo and video capabilities. However, there is some complication in the resolution process. One user mentioned on the community platform that affected devices must be sent back to Samsung for a diagnostic test to determine if it’s a manufacturing defect. This means that users will need to find an alternative phone to use temporarily.

Videos shared by users experiencing the problem clearly show how the camera struggles to stabilize. Although Samsung has not publicly recognized the issue or suggested a solution, the company’s response at service centers provides some reassurance. If the problem is linked to a software update, a patch might resolve it, but for faulty units, hardware replacements could be necessary.

There’s much to explore, so here’s a concise overview of the key features.

Camera Features of the Vivo X200 Ultra

The core of the X200 Ultra’s camera setup features a new 35mm primary camera utilizing the Sony LYT-818 sensor. The ultra-wide camera maintains a high-quality sensor strategy, also utilizing the Sony LYT-818, but this one has been specially customized in collaboration with Zeiss. This 14mm “Hawk Eye” lens promises an impressive 181% increase in light intake and a 216% faster shutter speed than its earlier model. It comes equipped with dual-axis optical image stabilization.

Next is the 85mm telephoto lens, which features a 200MP Samsung HP9 sensor and is touted by Vivo as the first APO-grade telephoto configuration in a mobile device. It has a six-element design that enhances clarity and includes 5.0-level OIS. Vivo claims this new module offers 38% improved light performance and 41% more stable results compared to its predecessor.

    Innovative Processing Power

Supporting this entire camera system is the new VS1 chip, which is Vivo’s first AI ISP (image signal processor) boasting 80 TOPS of computing power and outstanding energy efficiency at 16 TOPS/W. This chip is designed to manage tasks such as real-time bokeh rendering, HDR processing, and complex multi-frame image stacking.

Portrait photography is a key feature of the X200 Ultra. There is also a unique “Humanistic Street Photography” mode that emphasizes quick-launch capabilities, 35mm framing, and a film-like visual style.

The X200 Ultra can record 4K portrait videos across all focal lengths, optimizing skin tones through the HSV algorithm, and boasts nearly zero shutter delay owing to the new VS1 chip.

    Low-Light Photography Options

Low-light photography is given equal attention. Users can take shots ranging from (14mm) ultra-wide to long-range telephoto at night. A variety of modes such as Supermoon, Zeiss Micro Bokeh, and Starry Sky are available to capture intricate details of the night sky.

For scene recognition and visual quality, Vivo claims to utilize models trained on over 80 million samples, which includes large-scale image sets and data-engineered photo simulations.

The Vivo X200 Ultra is scheduled for an official launch on April 21st.

  • Apple’s Foldable iPhone Could Feature Under-Display Camera Tech

Apple’s Foldable iPhone Could Feature Under-Display Camera Tech

    Key Takeaways

    1. The foldable iPhone is expected to be released next year, with a price tag around $2,300.
    2. It will feature a 7.76-inch internal display with a resolution of 2712 x 1920 pixels and an under-display camera.
    3. Apple has been developing under-display camera technology since 2021 and plans to introduce it with the foldable iPhone.
    4. The device will also include a 5.49-inch cover display with a resolution of 2088 x 1422 and a hole-punch cutout for a traditional selfie camera.
    5. The design is expected to be more compact and “squat,” making it easier to use with one hand compared to Samsung’s taller foldable devices.

Apple’s much-anticipated foldable iPhone could be released next year. It’s expected to be a pricey model, with estimates indicating it could cost around $2,300. Recent leaks suggest that Apple might be testing under-display camera technology for this exciting new device.

    Insider Information

This news comes from a trustworthy insider, Digital Chat Station. The informant claims that the upcoming Apple foldable will come equipped with a 7.76-inch internal display boasting a resolution of 2712 x 1920 pixels, and it will indeed feature a camera concealed beneath the screen.

    A Logical Choice for Apple

Apple patented its under-display camera technology in 2021, and a recent report from 2023 suggested that the company was already developing it. Now, it looks like the foldable iPhone could finally introduce this technology to consumers. While it might not seem typical for Apple to launch new tech in a less mainstream product, it appears to be a smart strategy in this instance.

For years, Samsung has been utilizing a similar approach with its Z Fold series. While the quality of under-display cameras isn’t quite at the level of traditional ones, they are designed to be hidden. Furthermore, akin to Samsung’s foldable devices, Apple’s will probably feature a regular selfie camera on the cover screen, ensuring users won’t be left with subpar quality.

    Design Considerations

Additionally, the leak mentions a 5.49-inch cover display with a resolution of 2088 x 1422; this display is said to have a hole-punch cutout for the camera. So, users can expect to have access to both types of cameras.

In terms of design, Apple seems to favor a more compact and “squat” shape, similar to the Oppo Find N2, rather than the tall and narrow design found in Samsung’s Fold series. This could make the device easier to operate with one hand, or at least not as awkward to open and close in public.
