  • RTX 50 Super Series Delayed, Not Canceled, Says Leaker

RTX 50 Super Series Delayed, Not Canceled, Says Leaker

    Key Takeaways

    1. Nvidia’s RTX 50 Super series is delayed, not canceled, due to a shortage of 3 GB GDDR7 modules.
    2. The new release timeline for the RTX 5070 Super, RTX 5070 Ti Super, and RTX 5080 Super is now Q3 2026, six months later than expected.
    3. The RTX 60 series may face delays and could potentially launch in 2028, although a CES 2026 reveal is still possible.
    4. Ongoing memory shortages and high demand for AI computing may impact future GPU releases.
    5. Buyers should act quickly to secure the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB model, as it may become scarce soon.

A recent rumor suggested that Nvidia might fully cancel its RTX 50 Super series because of a lack of 3 GB GDDR7 modules. However, well-known leaker @Zed__Wang quickly clarified that the series has just been delayed and not completely scrapped. This is promising news, as the RTX 50 Super series is expected to provide a significant boost in VRAM.

    New Release Timeline

The RTX 5070 Super, RTX 5070 Ti Super, and RTX 5080 Super are now expected to launch in Q3 2026, which is about six months later than their anticipated CES 2026 unveiling. This timing brings them quite close to the RTX 60 series, which is expected to be revealed a few months ahead during CES 2027, assuming Nvidia maintains its usual two-year release cycle.

    Possible Delays Ahead

Nevertheless, the ongoing memory shortage, along with the growing demand for AI computing capabilities, could push back the launch of the RTX 60 series. The leaker suggests that it may not arrive until 2028, although this seems unlikely. Nvidia might still reveal the GPUs at CES 2026 and make them available for purchase a few months after, should supply challenges continue.

Act Fast for the RTX 5060 Ti

For those interested in acquiring an RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB model, it’s wise to act quickly, as this graphics card is likely to become scarce due to the previously mentioned memory shortage.

  • Transform PS5 AMD BC250 Board into $120 Linux Gaming PC

Transform PS5 AMD BC250 Board into $120 Linux Gaming PC

    Key Takeaways

    1. The AMD BC250 APU, claimed to be similar to the PS5’s graphics card, was purchased by a modder for £96 ($120) and successfully powered on.
    2. The BC250 resembles a server-style motherboard and features AMD’s Zen 2 CPU and RDNA 2 GPU architecture with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory.
    3. Initial tests showed compatibility issues with Linux drivers, but the modder managed to run Half-Life 2 and achieve decent benchmark performance.
    4. The BC250 has hardware limitations, including six Zen 2 cores and 24 compute units, which are fewer than the PS5’s specifications.
    5. Despite stability issues with RAM-heavy games and Linux drivers, the BC250 performed surprisingly well and even supported ray tracing in certain games.

A modder recently got their hands on what is claimed to be the graphics card for the PlayStation 5, or more accurately, the AMD BC250 APU. This is a simplified version of the custom chip used in the PS5. The modder purchased it from a Chinese seller for just £96, which is about $120. Against all expectations, the unit not only powered on but also managed to run various PC games on Linux, such as GTA V, Cyberpunk 2077, and Counter-Strike 2.

    Unboxing the BC250

The creator of the YouTube channel Budget-Builds Official ordered the BC250 board, which is said to have the same AMD architecture that Sony uses in the PlayStation 5. Upon unpacking, it became evident that this is not a standard GPU card; instead, it resembles a server-style motherboard featuring power headers, I/O ports, and a large passive heatsink, suggesting it was originally intended for use in cryptocurrency mining setups.

    Specifications of the Chip

The chip at the core, the AMD BC250, is similar to the PS5’s Zen 2 CPU and RDNA 2 GPU architecture. The board is equipped with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, divided equally between system and graphics, just as in the console.

After constructing a temporary setup powered by a 1,000 W Corsair PSU, adding a CMOS battery, and connecting external storage along with a mouse, keyboard, and monitor, the YouTuber started the board in a Linux environment. To everyone’s surprise, it powered up almost instantly, recognizing itself as the AMD BC250 with 12 threads and integrated Radeon graphics.

    Performance Results

However, initial attempts to run Half-Life 2 and 3DMark’s Time Spy and Fire Strike benchmarks did not succeed due to conflicts with Linux drivers. After seeking help on online forums, the YouTuber managed to run Half-Life 2 without any hitches, but both 3DMark benchmarks still could not be completed.

The benchmark results showed decent performance, although the chip has fewer compute units compared to a full PS5 APU. Overall, the chip functioned like a budget gaming PC while consuming similar power to mid-range GPUs, though thermal management was a significant issue, primarily because the entire setup was quite makeshift.

    Hardware Limitations

Upon inspecting the hardware, it was confirmed that the BC250 has six Zen 2 cores (instead of the eight found in the PS5) and 24 compute units (compared to 36 in the console). It does not support traditional DDR memory or SATA ports, relying instead on M.2 storage and the onboard GDDR6 for both system and VRAM tasks.

The YouTuber reported frequent stability problems when playing RAM-heavy games like Oblivion Remastered and ongoing quirks with Linux Wi-Fi drivers. Nonetheless, the BC250 managed most gaming titles surprisingly well, even offering ray tracing support in the Enhanced edition of GTA V.

    4. The mod is still in development and not yet available to players.
    5. Players can follow updates on the mod through the Skyrim Revoiced YouTube Channel.

Released in 2011, Skyrim remains beloved by players globally. Yet, it does have issues, especially with the voices of its NPCs. Luckily, a new mod is being developed to enhance this aspect, providing deeper immersion into this extraordinary world.

    NPCs and Their Voices

There are numerous NPCs in the game who play vital roles. However, the variety in their voices can be lacking, which sometimes detracts from the overall experience.

    Enhancing Character Voices

Skyrim Revoiced aims to remedy this by introducing fresh voices for the characters you encounter. It’s important to note that these voices are not created through AI technology.

As noted by spdude, a prominent figure known for his many Skyrim projects, more than 50 actors participated in the mod’s development. The outcome is remarkable, as the NPCs now have unique voices that add depth to their character. This also allows for emotional expressions based on different scenarios, which heightens player immersion in this perilous land.

    Anticipating the Release

Despite its promise, this ambitious mod is still in the works and isn’t publicly available yet. Players will need to be patient for updates, but it may launch soon. Meanwhile, there are countless other mods for Skyrim that can dramatically alter your gaming experience, such as this one.

EA Confirms New Mass Effect Game and TV Show in Development

    Key Takeaways

    1. BioWare is under pressure to succeed with the upcoming Mass Effect game after the flop of Dragon Age: Veilguard.
    2. There is no set release date for the new Mass Effect game, but EA is focusing all resources on it.
    3. Commander Shepherd will not be the main character in the new game.
    4. A hidden clue in the blog post hints at the phrase “Url Krogan,” suggesting future information could be revealed.
    5. The Krogan may emerge as potential main villains, following the defeat of the Geth and Reapers.

With the recent flop of Dragon Age: Veilguard, BioWare is now under huge stress to succeed with the upcoming Mass Effect installment. The last teaser for the game was in 2020, leaving its future quite unclear. Thankfully, a recent blog post offers some positive news, confirming that “The next Mass Effect game is in development,” and there is also a TV series being developed in collaboration with Amazon.

    No Set Release Date

Sadly, the post doesn’t provide a timeline for when we can expect this game, only saying it’ll come out “when it’s ready.” However, EA has stated that all their resources are now focused on the new Mass Effect game, suggesting it might launch earlier than we thought. It’s also been confirmed that Commander Shepherd will not be the main character this time, and fans are left hoping for a better outcome than what was seen in Andromeda.

    Hidden Messages

Mike Gamble has included a somewhat hidden clue in the blog post. If you look closely, the italicized letters form the phrase “Url Krogan.” This phrase doesn’t mean much on its own, but it hints that more information could be revealed in future posts. Unfortunately, Mike remains just as vague on X. With the Geth and Reapers no longer a threat, the Krogan could emerge as the main villains, a theory supported by the mysterious cipher mentioned above.

Bioware has a lot to live up to with this new release, and fans are eagerly waiting for more updates.

  • Humble Bundle Offers $264 Steam Games for Just $12 in Mystery Sale

Humble Bundle Offers $264 Steam Games for Just $12 in Mystery Sale

    Key Takeaways

    1. The Frogwares Lovecraft and Sherlock Classics Humble Bundle offers 12 popular titles for only $12, valued at $264.
    2. Key games in the bundle include The Sinking City Remastered and Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, both inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s themes.
    3. Engaging narratives are featured, such as Sherlock Holmes Chapter One and The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, which involve complex puzzles and captivating stories.
    4. The bundle includes classic cases like Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter and Sherlock Holmes Versus Jack the Ripper, focusing on traditional detective work.
    5. Nostalgic gameplay elements are present in titles like Sherlock Holmes: The Silver Earring, alongside moral choices impacting outcomes in Crimes and Punishments.

The Ukrainian developer Frogwares is well-known for its popular Sherlock Holmes mystery games. The Lovecraft and Sherlock Classics Humble Bundle features 12 of their top titles. While the graphics of these Steam games have improved over the years, all of them are designed for keen puzzle enthusiasts. Some individual games can cost over $40 and draw inspiration from the eerie horror themes of H.P. Lovecraft.

    A Great Deal

This Humble Bundle offer stands out as one of the best deals seen lately. For just a $12 contribution, you can get a package that’s worth $264.

    Unique Offerings

In a bundle filled with Sherlock Holmes titles, The Sinking City Remastered pays homage to the cosmic horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. This game has you playing as a private investigator in a creepy, flooded town in 1920s New England. While tracing the flood’s origins, players must pay attention to seemingly minor clues. The game, priced at $40, benefits from Unreal Engine 5, which enhances the combat sequences compared to its 2019 predecessor.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened brings more Lovecraftian supernatural elements into the mix. Although there’s no combat, the clever banter between Holmes and Watson often receives high praise. In 2023, an updated version was launched, featuring significantly better visuals.

    Engaging Narratives

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One offers a fresh origin story. In this adventure, the young detective visits a fictional Mediterranean island, where his mother has recently died. Holmes faces the challenge of uncovering the truth behind her death. While the story is captivating, the open-world environment can feel a bit empty at times.

The Testament of Sherlock Holmes takes place in a more recognizable Victorian London. Many positive reviews on Steam regard this 2012 mystery game as a fitting homage to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The complex puzzles put the detective’s skills to the test as he deals with murder and theft accusations.

    Classic Cases

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter, now discounted from $30, consists of five distinct cases that revolve around Holmes’ connection to the late Professor James Moriarty’s daughter. The focus is on traditional detective work, with players’ successes or failures determined by their interpretation of the evidence.

Most of the Steam games in the Frogwares Lovecraft and Sherlock Classics Humble Bundle present original stories. The Hound of the Baskervilles offers a fresh take on one of Doyle’s most renowned Sherlock Holmes tales. Gameplay includes finding hidden objects within intricately designed rooms.

Sherlock Holmes Versus Jack the Ripper places the detective up against the notorious serial killer. This 2009 release is known for its blend of first and third-person gameplay styles. Frogwares captures the despair of Whitechapel authentically, although players feel the graphics could use an update.

    Nostalgic Gameplay

Sherlock Holmes: The Silver Earring doesn’t allow for the same level of exploration as later Frogwares games. Still, players enjoy navigating its charming 2D environments using point-and-click controls.

For a $12 donation, you also gain access to Crimes and Punishments, where moral choices impact the game’s outcomes. The collection is rounded out with Nemesis and The Mystery of the Persian Carpet. The Frogwares Lovecraft and Sherlock Classics Humble Bundle ends on November 28th.

  • Arc Raiders Sells 2.5 Million Copies, Grosses Over $100 Million

Arc Raiders Sells 2.5 Million Copies, Grosses Over $100 Million

    Key Takeaways

    1. Strong Sales Performance: Arc Raiders has sold around 2.5 million copies since its release, generating over $100 million in revenue.

    2. Platform Sales Breakdown: Steam is the leading platform, accounting for 69.2% of sales, followed by PlayStation at 17.3% and Xbox at 13.5%.

    3. Player Engagement: The game launched with high player engagement, peaking at over 354,000 concurrent players and maintaining a daily user base above 300,000 on Steam.

    4. Market Appeal and Challenges: Despite its success, Arc Raiders faces challenges in reaching a broader audience due to its complex gameplay and the nature of the extraction shooter genre.

    5. Future Development Plans: Embark Studios plans to enhance the game with quest-based storytelling and new content, including a fifth map, to retain its player base.

Embark Studios’ Arc Raiders has established itself as a top-selling extraction shooter in 2025. Since its release on October 30, 2025, it has sold around 2.5 million copies on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC through Steam and Epic Games. With a price tag of $39.99, the game has generated more than $100 million in total revenue.

    Sales Breakdown

According to Alinea Analytics, which specializes in tracking video game sales, Steam is the primary sales platform, responsible for 69.2% of total sales, amounting to nearly 1.7 million copies. Following Steam, PlayStation held 17.3% of sales with 400,000 units sold, while Xbox accounted for 13.5%, translating to 300,000 units.

    Launch and Player Engagement

Arc Raiders shifted from a free-to-play to a paid model, celebrating its launch with 253,486 players online concurrently and peaking at 354,836 players on November 2. This influx caused server issues due to high traffic.

Since its debut, the game has enjoyed a strong player base of over 300,000 daily users on Steam, with daily player counts staying above 90,000. Players have given the game a 90% Very Positive rating from 56,000 reviews. Arc Raiders has consistently held a top position on Steam’s Most Played Charts, frequently exchanging the number three spot with Battlefield 6.

    Previous Titles and Market Appeal

Embark’s earlier multiplayer FPS, The Finals, pales in comparison to the success of Arc Raiders, marking it as one of Steam’s largest extraction shooter launches.

Despite its significant success, Rhys Elliott from Alinea Analytics commented, “As an extraction shooter, Arc Raiders lacks broad market appeal. These games typically attract a dedicated group of players who enjoy tension and storytelling that emerges naturally. However, the challenging learning curve limits its wider audience.”

Elliott suggests that the paid model enhances the game’s appeal, saying, “The game may be ‘stickier psychologically’ since players might feel they should continue playing after spending money. In contrast, free-to-play games are easier to leave and enter.”

    Future Development and Community Support

Nonetheless, Embark has committed to developing quest-based and visual storytelling elements for Arc Raiders as it evolves, similar to Helldivers 2. This approach could help retain its player base over time. The studio has already shared a roadmap, hinting at the introduction of its fifth map, Stella Montis, in the North Line update.

Notable streamer and esports star Shroud, impressed with Arc Raiders’ gameplay, has encouraged fans to nominate it for Game of the Year. However, the live service extraction shooter genre often experiences significant player drop-offs. Only time will reveal if Arc Raiders can maintain its growth.

  • GTA 6 is Content Ready, No Expected Release Date Delay

GTA 6 is Content Ready, No Expected Release Date Delay

    Key Takeaways

    1. GTA 6 is reported to be “content ready,” with an expected release date in November 2026.
    2. Tom Henderson has a strong track record for predicting GTA 6 news and aligns with Take-Two’s CEO on the need for more polish.
    3. “Content ready” may mean graphics and voice acting are mostly finished, but significant adjustments may still be needed.
    4. Rockstar Games is committed to fixing bugs before launch, unlike some developers who release unfinished games.
    5. There is skepticism among fans about the release date, with potential ongoing development costs estimated at $10 million per month until launch.

After absorbing the news about the delay in the GTA 6 release date, many fans are curious about how much longer they will have to wait. Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming has reported that the project by Rockstar Games is “content ready.” He believes that since the game is only needing final touches, it is expected to be released in November 2026.

    Henderson’s Track Record

Henderson has a good reputation for predicting news regarding GTA 6. His verified leaks have warned fans before the latest delay occurred. His statements also match with what Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, said during a recent earnings call. Zelnick mentioned that “more time is required to polish” the game to ensure it launches in the “best possible form.”

    What Does “Content Ready” Mean?

However, the term “content ready” can be interpreted in various ways. It’s possible that Rockstar Games has already completed most of the graphics and finished recording the voice acting. There might even be a playable version of the game, kept under tight security by the company. Still, the term “polish” is often used loosely by publishers, suggesting that significant portions of the game might still need adjustments.

In a recent Insider Gaming podcast episode, Henderson pointed out Rockstar’s commitment to eliminating any bugs. Unlike previous times, some developers today are more inclined to release games even when they are not fully finished, expecting to fix issues after launch. However, GTA 6 is not going to follow that trend. If its open world is indeed vast, this might lead to a longer debugging period than usual.

    Differences in Perspectives

The timing for declaring a game as finished can vary even within the same company. Zelnick mentioned that the slower-than-anticipated sales for Borderlands 4 were due to performance issues on PCs. Since Take-Two owns 2K Games, the publisher for that title, he suggested it might have benefited from more optimization prior to its release.

Not every fan is convinced that the GTA 6 release date will be free from further delays. If the game is close to completion, Rockstar is evidently willing to spend a considerable amount to achieve perfection. Henderson estimates that the game could rack up an extra $10 million monthly in development costs until it finally launches.

  • Obsidian’s Outer Worlds 2 Criticized for Lack of Innovation

Obsidian’s Outer Worlds 2 Criticized for Lack of Innovation

    Key Takeaways

    1. Daniel Vavra criticized Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds 2 for lack of innovation and new game mechanics despite 15 years of experience and Microsoft’s funding.

    2. Vavra rated The Outer Worlds 2 a 7 out of 10, expressing disappointment that it does not introduce fresh ideas compared to older games like Fallout and Deus Ex.

    3. He called for a more dynamic, living game world, emphasizing the need for genuine non-linearity over scripted experiences.

    4. Vavra claimed Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 achieved realistic world simulation on a lower budget than The Outer Worlds 2, highlighting differences in NPC behavior.

    5. While The Outer Worlds 2 has received a decent Metacritic score, it has a lower user score, indicating mixed player reception despite improvements over its predecessor.

The director of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Daniel Vavra, has openly criticized Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds 2, claiming that the studio has failed to innovate since its Fallout: New Vegas heyday, despite 15 years of experience and funding from Microsoft.

    Vavra’s Rating and Concerns

Vavra scored The Outer Worlds 2 a 7 out of 10, expressing his disappointment that the game lacks novel ideas. He shared his thoughts on X:

“Finished. 7/10. But what saddens me is that the folks behind one of my favorite games ever (Fallout: New Vegas) have been unable, after 15 years and with all of Microsoft’s funds and latest tech, to introduce a single new game mechanic that could evolve this proven but outdated formula into something fresh.”

    A Call for Innovation

He challenged anyone to identify a new game mechanic in The Outer Worlds 2 that wasn’t already present in Deus Ex or the original Fallout games from over 25 years ago. “Sadly, I can’t,” he said. “I want a living, simulated world! Genuine non-linearity! I need more than loot boxes, maintenance shafts, loading screens, and level grinding in a static, scripted world.”

    Budget Comparisons and Critiques

Vavra also claimed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 achieved a remarkably realistic world simulation on a lower budget, taking a direct jab at Obsidian Entertainment. He stated, “I would bet that budget for KCD2 was WAY LOWER than Outer Worlds 2.”

After Vavra’s comments, he received many responses, with some questioning whether Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 introduces any new gameplay mechanics. Vavra defended his position, asserting that his game’s detailed simulation allows thousands of NPCs to follow precise daily routines, which isn’t present in The Outer Worlds 2’s “scripted world.”

    The Outer Worlds 2’s Reception

The Outer Worlds 2 has done well, boasting a Metacritic score of 83/100 from 54 critic reviews, but it has an average user score of only 6.6 from 278 ratings. Players have praised the game as a significant improvement over the 2019 original, providing greater choices.

Recent successful titles like Larian’s cRPG Baldur’s Gate 3 received acclaim not for groundbreaking mechanics but for the excellent execution of existing gameplay systems. The same applies to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which added an engaging real-time twist to traditional turn-based combat.

    The Impact of Developer Critiques

Public critiques from developers, especially well-known ones, are rare — and for good reasons: they can be divisive in unexpected ways. Vavra’s review of The Outer Worlds 2 has led fans to defend Obsidian’s game for enhancing the sequel rather than advancing world simulation. Many have argued that Vavra took a significant risk with KCD2, which, against all odds, resulted in success.

  • NetEase Closes Bad Brain Games After Midnight Riders Funding Fail

NetEase Closes Bad Brain Games After Midnight Riders Funding Fail

    Key Takeaways

    1. NetEase has closed its Canadian branch, Bad Brain Games Studios, marking the second studio shutdown in a week under the publisher.
    2. Bad Brain Games was founded in 2023 by former Ubisoft developers and failed to secure funding for its project, The Midnight Riders.
    3. The Midnight Riders was a praised retro-style action-adventure game featuring teenagers battling eldritch horrors on bicycles.
    4. Nearly twenty employees are now left jobless due to the closure, amidst a wave of layoffs in the gaming industry.
    5. The project’s intellectual property is still available for acquisition or partnership, as the studio head remains optimistic about its future.

In a disappointing turn of events for the gaming world, NetEase has closed its Canadian branch, Bad Brain Games Studios. This marks the second studio to shut down this week under the publisher, following the closure of Fantastic Pixel Castle.

    About Bad Brain Games

Founded in 2023 in Toronto, Bad Brain Games was formed by previous developers from Ubisoft, especially those who worked on the Watch Dogs series. The studio announced it will cease operations on November 17, 2025, after failing to secure funding for its project, known as The Midnight Riders.

Sean Crooks, the head of the studio, shared the news on LinkedIn, expressing, “It’s with a heavy heart that we share that Bad Brain Game Studios will be closing its doors.” He noted that the team had explored every possible option for investment but was unsuccessful. He commended his team’s “creativity and commitment” as they “pushed creative and technical boundaries every day with passion, imagination, and craft.”

    The Midnight Riders Project

The Midnight Riders was designed to be a retro-style action-adventure game showcasing a group of teenagers who navigate mysterious realms on bicycles, combatting eldritch horrors with common items like slingshots and baseball bats.

The studio had even released a brief sizzle reel that received significant acclaim for its artistic direction and captivating gameplay.

Despite the abrupt stop in the development of The Midnight Riders, Crooks mentioned that the project and its intellectual property are still “available with acquisition or partnership.” He remains optimistic, saying, “We believe strongly in what was created, and would love to see this world find its way to players.”

    Impact on Employees

Bad Brain Games Studios employed nearly twenty individuals, many of whom had come from established studios. Sadly, staff are now searching for new jobs amid a harsh wave of layoffs in the gaming sector, which has left tens of thousands of developers without employment.

Crooks concluded his post by saying, “Your encouragement and belief in what we were building meant the world to us. While this chapter is ending sooner than we had hoped, the spirit of what we created at Bad Brain will live on through the incredible people who made it possible.”

This closure represents the third significant studio shutdown linked to NetEase in recent months. The first was T-Minus Zero Entertainment, although they succeeded in striking a deal with a group of veteran directors and founders for the studio’s name and assets.

Now, Bad Brain Games’ The Midnight Riders remains in limbo, waiting for any potential buyer interested in reviving the title.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 Surpasses Mario Kart 8 in Sales Rankings

Red Dead Redemption 2 Surpasses Mario Kart 8 in Sales Rankings

    Key Takeaways

    1. Grand Theft Auto VI’s release has been delayed to November 19, 2026.
    2. Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 79 million copies, making it the fourth-best-selling video game ever.
    3. Red Dead Redemption series total sales have surpassed 106 million copies globally.
    4. Sales of Red Dead Redemption 2 have consistently grown over the years, reaching significant milestones since its release in 2018.
    5. Future developments for the Red Dead series may include Red Dead Redemption 3, as indicated by voice actor Roger Clark and Take-Two’s CEO.

As announced, Grand Theft Auto VI has been pushed back once more to November 19, 2026. In the same breath, Take-Two Interactive shared that Red Dead Redemption 2 achieved a notable landmark in 2025. It has successfully sold over 79 million copies globally, securing its spot as the fourth-best-selling video game ever and bringing the total sales of the Red Dead Redemption series beyond 106 million.

    Key Sales Figures

This information was shared during Take-Two Interactive’s Q2 fiscal 2026 earnings call. Red Dead Redemption 2 has surpassed sales of Mario Kart 8, which is estimated at 78.02 million, PUBG with 75 million, Oregon Trail at 65 million, Terraria at 64 million, The Witcher 3 at 60 million, and the original Super Mario Bros. from 1985 at 58 million.

To provide some context, the best-selling video game in history is Minecraft, with 350 million units sold across the globe. Grand Theft Auto V follows in second place with 220 million, and Wii Sports holds the third position with 82.9 million copies sold.

    Sales Growth Over Time

By May 2020, just over a year after its release, Red Dead Redemption 2 had reached 31 million in sales. Take-Two has regularly updated the sales figures over time. By December 2023, the game had added another 30 million units, raising the overall sales to 61 million. Then, by February 2025, it saw an increase of 9 million more units sold, with another 9 million added by November 2025.

This is truly an impressive achievement for Rockstar, given that Red Dead Redemption 2 was released nearly seven years ago in October 2018. Despite the competitive landscape with major titles like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, and Baldur’s Gate 3 launching recently, Rockstar’s Western open-world adventure has continued to resonate with players.

    Future of Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption 2 keeps surpassing what industry experts expected, even as Red Dead Online comes included with each copy, although it was available as a standalone version starting in 2020. Rockstar ended support for Red Dead Online on July 7, 2022, but on July 1, 2025, they surprise-launched a DLC named Strange Tales of the West, which featured four new Telegram missions.

With the development of GTA VI nearing completion and a reported release scheduled for November next year, fans are eager to know if Red Dead Redemption 3 might be on the horizon. Arthur Morgan’s voice actor, Roger Clark, expressed in a 2023 interview his belief that Red Dead Redemption 3 will eventually happen, though he didn’t have specifics on when that might be.

In another conversation, Clark mentioned, “Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two, has said it himself. He affirmed that GTA and Red Dead are key franchises for Rockstar Games and that they will revisit them in the future.”
