The recent leaks about the Casio MRG-B2100R-2AJR have unveiled fresh information, particularly about its design, materials, and when it will be available. Earlier speculation hinted at a blue dial, but new images and details have provided clarity on some important aspects of this luxurious watch.
Design Inspired by Tradition
The MRG-B2100R-2AJR takes cues from classic Japanese design, focusing on the concept of “Aizumi (藍墨),” which translates to indigo ink. Casio has a history of integrating elements of Japanese culture into its MR-G series, with the square MRG-B5000BA-1 being a notable example, featuring a similar indigo blue bezel.
Unique Construction Features
From the leaked pictures, the octagonal bezel of the MRG-B2100R-2AJR is particularly eye-catching. Made from Cobarion, a cobalt-chromium alloy, this bezel boasts a shine akin to platinum and is four times harder than titanium. The band enhances this striking look with a textured surface, giving the watch an energetic and sporty vibe. The case seems to have a DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating for better scratch resistance. The dial showcases detailed wave-like patterns, while gold highlights on the hands and indices create a stunning contrast against the deep blue background. Additionally, the MRG-B2100R-2AJR is set to include Tough Solar charging, Multi-Band 6 time calibration, and smartphone connectivity, features found in other high-end MR-G watches.
Anticipated Release and Pricing
Expected to be released on January 24, 2025, the MRG-B2100R-2AJR is said to carry a price of ¥550,000 (around $3,800). Given its connection to the MR-G series and the Japan-only focus of similar models, its availability worldwide remains unclear. Recently, we also reported on the launch of new Japan-themed models in the Casio DW-5600 series – you can find that information here.
With all the details we’ve compiled so far, it seems this watch is poised to attract significant attention in the luxury watch market.
