Casio has just unveiled the G-Shock Nano DWN-5600 series, a collection of tiny, ring-shaped watches inspired by the brand’s iconic DW-5600 model. The Nano is available in three color options: black (DWN-5600-1JR), red (DWN-5600-4JR), and yellow (DWN-5600-9JR). It will first be launched in Japan with a price tag of 14,300 yen (around $95), which is slightly above previous rumors.

A Compact Yet Functional Design

Measuring roughly one-tenth of the size of a regular G-Shock, the Nano may look like a toy at first, but it packs a surprising amount of functionality. Casio has successfully incorporated a digital LCD display while maintaining all the timekeeping features expected from the G-Shock series, including dual time, stopwatch, auto calendar, and a blinking light alarm that activates at specified times. It includes three side buttons for switching modes or turning on the LED light, although the small screen can only show a few modes at any given time.

Innovative Features and Durability

According to Casio, this is the tiniest shock-resistant G-Shock ever created, constructed with high-density component mounting and a compact battery. Like other standard G-Shocks, it boasts a water resistance of up to 200 meters and is shock-resistant. The battery can be replaced by the user and lasts for two years, which is quite remarkable considering the Nano’s small size.

Eco-Friendly and Adjustable Fit

The bezel and strap are crafted from recycled resin, reflecting Casio’s commitment to sustainability. The ring’s size can be modified from 48mm to 82mm using traditional band holes. The watch dimensions are 23.4 × 20 × 7.5mm, and it comes packaged in a collector-style box that includes a special silicone display stand.

The Casio G-Shock Nano DWN-5600 series is set to launch in Japan this November. It is expected to reach international markets, such as the US and UK, in the weeks that follow.
