Built-in Microsoft Phone Link support enhances the Cross-device connectivity of OxygenOS 14 and ColorOS 14

OnePlus and Oppo have taken a cue from their competitors, Samsung and Honor, and have now integrated Microsoft Phone Link for cross-device connectivity. This new feature, available with OxygenOS 14 and ColorOS 14, will greatly benefit OnePlus users who often struggle with file transfers and syncing messages and photos between their Windows machine and phone.

While support for Phone Link was previously available as a third-party app, it is now seamlessly integrated with OxygenOS 14 and ColorOS 14, offering a more intuitive cross-device experience. This integration aims to redefine how users work on any device, from anywhere.

To set up the OnePlus device on both new and old Windows PCs, users simply need to scan a QR code. The setup process is quick, taking no more than a minute, and grants users access to enhanced features of the Windows Phone Link app.

Enhanced Cross-Device Functionality

In addition to managing photos, notifications, replying to messages, and receiving calls, the integration also allows users to interact with mobile apps using their PC. App mirroring facilitates multitasking, saving users time by eliminating the need to constantly switch between devices. The integration also supports direct display mirroring and cross-device copy-and-paste sync.

Future Expectations

In the near future, we can anticipate instant hotspot support for OnePlus devices, similar to what is already available for Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

OxygenOS 14 and ColorOS 14 Features

OxygenOS 14 and ColorOS 14 introduce several other noteworthy features to enhance productivity and usability across OnePlus smartphones. These include File Dock, Notes 2.0, and Smart Cutout.

With the integration of Microsoft Phone Link, OnePlus and Oppo are taking a step towards providing a seamless and efficient cross-device experience for their users. This move will undoubtedly make file transfers and syncing messages and photos a breeze, ultimately enhancing productivity and convenience.
