Barely two years after its initial unveiling, the BMW CE 04 is now gearing up for an official release in India. BMW Motorrad India has announced that pre-launch bookings are open for what they describe as India’s first premium electric scooter. The official launch date for the BMW CE 04 in India is set for July 24, 2024.

A Blend of Innovation and Urban Mobility

The brand-new BMW CE 04 offers a perfect mix of innovation and urban mobility, featuring a futuristic design, cutting-edge technology, and eco-friendly performance. The company claims that this new scooter redefines urban commuting, promising a modern and enjoyable riding experience.

The BMW CE 04 is an ultra-premium e-scooter characterized by its maxi-style, futuristic appearance. Positioned as the most expensive e-scooter in India, it boasts an electronically limited top speed of 120km/h and an impressive range of 130km.

Performance and Features

The CE 04 can accelerate from 0-50km/h in just 2.6 seconds and offers two charging options: a 2.3kW charger that fully charges the e-bike in less than 4.5 hours, or a 6.9kW charger that completes a full charge in 1.67 hours (100 minutes).

Design-wise, the BMW CE 04 includes floating panels, minimalist graphics, an exposed rear wheel, and contrasting orange accents. It is powered by a 20-horsepower liquid-cooled PMSM electric motor paired with an 8.9kWh battery pack. The scooter features dual 265mm front discs and a single rear disc, along with ABS and traction control to enhance rider safety. Additional features include a ventilated mobile charging compartment, a helmet storage compartment, and a large 10.5-inch HD TFT infotainment display.

The infotainment screen provides split-screen functionality, navigation tools, and other ride data. The scooter’s structural elements include a tubular chassis, a 35mm telescopic fork at the front, a rear mono-shock system, and a unique swingarm.

Pricing & Availability

Regarding pricing, the BMW CE 04 could cost up to 20 Lakhs (~$24,000), although the official retail price has yet to be confirmed. Interested customers in India can reach out to select authorized BMW Motorrad dealerships to book the BMW CE 04.
